Taha Ozyavuz

I don't generally book guides but I have waited many years to see Gobekli Tepe and I wanted to make the most of the opportunity so felt  it was worth the expense and Taha proved to be a fantastic choice.

My partner found him via some superb online reviews and started chatting with him.

He was helpful and informative and offered a custom tour at a reasonable price without being pushy. So we booked  a tour with him.

It proved incredibly worthwhile as Taha is very knowledgeable about the archeology and history of the area and showed us around the superb new Sanliurfa museum with the reconstruction of  Gobekli Tepe, to give us some background information prior to the temple visit. We also saw the mosaic museum, the bazaar and the sacred lake, which gave us a better insite into the whole history of the area. Taha then took us for a very nice lunch (and made sure there was a vegetarian option for me!) and then we went to Gobekli Tepe , which was an extremely emotional experience for us.

The whole time Taha was full of information. His English is very good, which was helpful for us. He is also a very kind and genuine person and after our day with him ended he kept in touch with us and helped us out with some travel issues we were having. He went to great lengths to help and make sure we were OK, for which we are very grateful and  it just added to our very positive experience.

I can thoroughly recommend him - book in advance, though, he is, unsurprisingly, a busy man!
