Anil Manandhar

I spent a week with Anil at the end of 2017.

I had previously been in Vietnam for a week, Sri Lanka for two weeks, and I followed my week in Nepal with two weeks in India.  

During those five weeks, I had contact with probably 20 guides, tour leaders, drivers and other support professionals.

Anil was simply the best of them all.

He was marvelously entertaining on the ride from Kathmandu to Nagarkot;

he know the best places for photography;

and he was infinitely patient with my requests.

At one point, when we were visiting a shop that made custom musical instruments,

Anil pulled out a harmonica and jammed with the owner and his 5 year old son.

What a blast!

I had a chance to meet his wife Susan, who is also a top-rated guide.

I hope to return to Nepal this year for another round with Anil.
