Xavier drove my wife and I out to Guachimontones pyramids, about one hour outside Guadalajara. First, Xavier is a nice person with excellent manners. Second, he had a good knowledge of the pyramids and communicated the key points. He had been to the site many times and took us to the pyramids movie - in English - just as it was staring. Good timing. Third, he speaks and understands English. Finally, he whisked us out to the pyramids despite holiday traffic and got us back to the hotel before the rush hours. Overall, a positive experience and I can recommend Xavier.

Miguel Pasos

We have hired private guides in 50 or so countries/areas and Miguel ranks with the best. He is an excellent guide.

We selected Miguel via tourhq and we made a good choice. Miguel stayed in touch with me via email before the visit - and easily accomodated a time change for the tour start.

Miguel has a large, clean van with cold AC which made out trip - on a hot day, most enjoyable.

We found Miguel to be laid back, kind and pleasant - with a good sense of humor. His English is perfect, by the way.

What sets Miguel apart is his knowldge and  passion for the Maya and the Mayan civilization.

Firts, we visted Chichen Itza and his lecture at the site was amazing.  (Think of the best professor you ever had.) He really brought the Mayan civilization and the buildings at Chichen Itza to light  -  in a fascinating way. Our second stop was EK Balam and he carefully discussed the issues of restoration at this site. A fun day.

In summary, I could not imagine a better choice for a Cancun and Playa del Carmen area private guide - and strongly recommend Miguel to all.

Gerardo Masis

My wife and I hired Gerardo for two days in the La Fortuna area: Arenal volcano hike, Rio Celeste area and so on. Gerardo was an excellent guide with perfect English language skills and a brand new luxury Italian SUV. We found him to be knowledgeable about not only the places we visited, but also about the animals and plants we saw there. He knows all about the snakes, birds and wildlife and can tell it all in an interesting manner. He was always "on time" and a real gentleman. My highest recommendation to a very nice man - a real pro. Five stars!
