Ranjan Pokharel

In 2017 I visited Nepal for only a few short days and arrived with zero plan but knowing I wanted to fit as much in as possible. Within a few hours of arriving I had met a local and through his connections I was booked in for the next 3-4 days with Ranjan as my local guide. In 3 short days Ranjan took me to all the major cultural sites in Kathmandu, I had visited multiple temples and hiked a small peak to see the sunrise in the early hours of the morning. I saw firsthand the devastation caused by the earthquake and shared some lovely local meals with Ranjan and learnt of his family and his life, the short but impactful time I spent in Kathmandu with Ranjan I felt I truly got to experience the culture, the food and feel connected to the country and it’s people.
