Itinerary

1. Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – Ouarzazate – Rose Valley – Boumalne Dades (6 Hours Drive)

   • Pick up from your accommodation or the airport in Marrakech.

   • Drive through the stunning High Atlas Mountains, crossing the Tizi-N-Tichka pass. Make stops for panoramic views of the landscapes.

   • Continue the journey to visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Ait Ben Haddou, a famous fortified village featured in movies such as Gladiator, The Mummy, and Game of Thrones.

   • Proceed to Ouarzazate, known as "The Gate of the Desert", and visit the Atlas Studio and the Taourirt Kasbah.

   • Drive to the Rose Valley, famous for its annual Rose Festival held in May, where locals sell rose products such as perfumes, oils, and water.

   • Head to Boumalne Dades for dinner and overnight stay in a hotel or Riad.

2. Day 2: Boumalne Dades – Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga Sahara – Overnight in a Luxury Camp (5 Hours Drive)

   • After breakfast, explore the stunning Dades Gorges before continuing to Todra Gorges, where the Todra River has carved a spectacular canyon with high red cliffs.

   • Take some free time to explore the gorges and appreciate the beauty of the landscape.

   • In the afternoon, arrive at the Sahara Desert in Merzouga and switch to camels for a desert ride.

   • Stop to enjoy a magical sunset on top of the dunes before heading to a luxury desert camp.

   • Enjoy Berber drum music and dance around the campfire under the vast starry sky.

   Have dinner and overnight in the camp.

3. Day 3: Explore Merzouga Region – Nomads Khamlia – Merzouga Lake – Erg Chebbi – Palm Grove (2 Hours Drive)

   • Wake up early to watch the beautiful sunrise in the desert.

   • After breakfast, return on camels to Merzouga, where your driver awaits.

   • Spend the day exploring the Merzouga region, which features numerous amazing sites such as sand dunes, wild lakes, mines, fossils, and palm groves.

   • Visit an ancient eyeliner mine and meet the nomadic people in their woven tents while enjoying a cup of traditional Berber tea.

   • Drive to the Khamlia village and enjoy the unique Gnaoua music and dancing performances.

   • Have free time for lunch in a local restaurant.

   • Take a stroll through a palm grove and then drive to Merzouga’s wild lake, known for its flamingos.

   • Return for dinner and overnight stay in a hotel.

4. Day 4: Merzouga Dunes – Erfoud – Midelt – Cedars Forest – Ifrane – Fes (7 Hours Drive)

   • Wake up early for one last desert sunrise experience before returning on camels to Merzouga.

   • Leave the desert and stop in Rissani, the ancient capital of Tafilalet, and explore its lively souk.

   • Continue to Erfoud, where you will visit a fossilized marble workshop.

   • Drive along the Ziz River and stop for panoramic views of the Ziz Valley.

   • Stop for lunch in Midelt before continuing through the cedars forest, home to the Barbary Macaques. You can feed and observe these monkeys as you walk through the forest.

   • Visit Ifrane, known for its alpine-style houses and snow, earning it the title "Switzerland of Morocco".

   • Finally, arrive in Fes, where you will be dropped off at the airport or your accommodation. End of the 4-day desert tour.
