Itinerary

1. Day 1: Marrakech – Imlil – Tizi Mzik (2684m) – Tamsoulte – Tizi Oussem (1850m)

   Morning

   • Transfer from Marrakech to Imlil: Begin your adventure with a scenic drive from Marrakech to the village of Imlil. This transfer will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on road conditions.

   • Meet the Guide: Once you arrive in Imlil, meet your local guide who will brief you on the day's trek and ensure all logistics are in place.

   Afternoon

   • Lunch in Imlil: Enjoy a delicious traditional lunch in Imlil, preparing for your hike.

   • Begin your hike towards the Tizi Mzik Pass (2684m). The ascent is gradual, but the views of the Imlil Valley below are absolutely stunning. This section will take you through beautiful terraced fields and rocky paths.

   • From Tizi Mzik, continue descending towards Tamsoulte, where you'll visit the highest waterfalls in the Atlas Mountains (100 meters tall). The falls are a spectacular sight, surrounded by lush greenery.

   Evening

   • Continue to Tizi Oussem: From Tamsoulte, head towards the village of Tizi Oussem, which is situated at 1850 meters above sea level. As you walk through the Azzaden Valley, you’ll be surrounded by juniper forests and dramatic mountain landscapes.

   • Dinner and Overnight Stay: After about 5 hours of walking, you’ll arrive at the village and enjoy a warm dinner at a local refuge or guesthouse. Rest for the night, immersed in the serene mountain atmosphere.

   • Duration: 5 hours of walking

   • Difficulty: Easy to moderate

   • Elevation Gain: +700 m

   • Elevation Loss: -550 m

2. Day 2: Tizi Oussem (1850m) – Id Issa Village (1800m) – Tizi Oudid (2000m) – Matat – Imlil

   Morning

   • Breakfast: After a restful night, enjoy a traditional Berber breakfast at your refuge.

   • Depart from Tizi Oussem, walking through the colorful valley and passing by several typical Berber villages. The valley is vibrant with terraced fields, and the path is lined with juniper trees.

   • Reach the village of Id Issa at 1800 meters, and then ascend to the Tizi Oudid Pass (2000m). The views of the surrounding mountains and valleys are breathtaking here.

   Afternoon

   • Descent to the Village of Matat: After crossing the Tizi Oudid Pass, descend through wild juniper and thuya forests towards the village of Matat. The hike is peaceful, and you'll encounter a variety of flora and fauna along the way.

   • Continue your trek back to Imlil via a winding trail through the valley. This section provides one last panoramic view of the Atlas Mountains and the surrounding villages.

   Evening

   • Arrive in Imlil: After approximately 4.5 hours of walking, you'll reach Imlil once more. Here, you’ll be transferred back to Marrakech or your next destination, completing your 2-day trekking adventure in the Atlas Mountains.
