Description
Our trip covers the Southeastern Anatolia Region, which harbors the oldest settlement areas of Turkey. The region known as Upper Mesopotamia is situated between the Euphrates and Tigris Rivers. Throughout the journey, we will visit these special and mystical settlement areas which have been home to ancient civilizations and where the palate has developed the most.
We will start our tour with the city of Zeugma, where villa mosaics, a sign of the wealth of Roman soldiers, have been discovered and displayed.
Next, we will visit Gobekli Tepe, known as ground zero of history, which has changed the known timeline of history with its discovery. Many of its secrets still remain unsolved, with a significant portion hidden underground.
Our third stop will be Mount Nemrut, which hosted the Kingdom of Commagene and is known for being the temple discovered at the highest altitude in the world, offering one of the best views for observing the sunrise and sunset.
Our fourth stop will be the city of Diyarbakir, which hosts the longest walls within Turkey's borders, with the Tigris River passing through it, and is listed on the UNESCO architectural list, featuring the Hevsel Gardens.
Lastly, we will complete our unforgettable experience with a visit to the city of Mardin, where the Assyrian People live according to their traditions, showcasing a unique architectural structure that deciphers both Greek and Umayyad cultures, proving that different cultures can coexist harmoniously.
