Itinerary

Togakushi Sacred Shrines & Nature Tour

Meeting Point: Nagano Station
- Meet your driver inside Nagano Station in front of the Information Board/video monitors, across from the Shinkansen/Bullet Train ticket gates.
- After a brief introduction, depart for Togakushi.
Departure for Togakushi
- Travel for 40 minutes through the scenic mountains of Togakushi while your guide shares history and cultural insights.
Zuishinmon Gate & Cedar Avenue at Togakushi Okusha Shrine
- Walk through the iconic Zuishinmon Gate, surrounded by 400-year-old cedar trees.
- Stroll along the serene cedar-lined pathway leading toward Okusha Shrine (due to time constraints, you won't go all the way to the Upper Shrine).
- Duration: 30 minutes.
Togakushi Chusha Shrine (Middle Shrine)
- Visit the central Togakushi Chusha Shrine, which is dedicated to the deity Tajikarao-no-Mikoto.
- Admire the traditional architecture and tranquil surroundings.
- Duration: 10 minutes.
Lunch: Togakushi Soba Experience
- Enjoy authentic Togakushi soba noodles at a local restaurant, one of Japan's most famous regional dishes.
- Duration: 30 minutes.
Return to Nagano Station
- Travel back to Nagano Station for 40 minutes, concluding your nature-filled and culturally enriching experience.

Know Before You Go

Pickup Location: The tour begins at Nagano Station. Your driver will meet you in front of the Information Board/video monitors, across from the Shinkansen/Bullet Train ticket gates.

Tour Duration: This is a 3-hour private tour, including travel time to and from Togakushi. Please be prepared for a scenic 40-minute drive each way.

Comfortable Footwear: Wear comfortable walking shoes as some of the paths may be uneven. In winter, snow-covered trails may require extra caution, so dress warmly.

Weather Conditions: The itinerary may be adjusted depending on weather or road conditions, especially in winter. Please check the forecast before the tour and dress accordingly.

Lunch: Lunch is not included in the tour price, but you’ll enjoy an authentic Togakushi soba experience at a local restaurant. Please inform your driver of any dietary restrictions ahead of time.

Optional Stops: If you would like to visit Zenkoji Temple at the end of your tour, please let your driver know. Note that transportation back to Nagano Station is not included in this option.
