Itinerary

1. Day 1- Pickup from Dar es Salaam, Travel to Mikumi National Park

   • Morning: Your honeymoon adventure begins with a morning pickup from your hotel in Dar es Salaam. You’ll be met by your private guide, who will accompany you throughout the entire journey. 
   • As you depart from Dar es Salaam, enjoy the scenic drive to Mikumi National Park. The journey will take you through charming Tanzanian landscapes, including farmlands, villages, and beautiful views of the Uluguru Mountains.
   • Arrive at Mikumi National Park: Upon arrival at Mikumi, check into your lodge, which will be situated in close proximity to the park’s wildlife-rich zones. 
   • After settling in, you’ll have time to relax and enjoy the serene surroundings. Mikumi is known for its large populations of elephants, giraffes, zebras, and buffaloes, as well as a variety of bird species. The park is also famous for its views of the Vuma Hills.
   • Lunch: Enjoy a delicious lunch at the lodge or camp before you embark on your first game drive of the safari.
   • Afternoon: In the afternoon, you’ll head out on a game drive in Mikumi. 
   • As the sun sets, you’ll spot a variety of animals, including lions, wildebeest, impalas, and plenty of birds. The park is known for being less crowded than other Tanzanian parks, offering a more intimate and peaceful safari experience.
   • Evening: Return to your lodge for a romantic dinner, where you’ll have the chance to unwind and discuss your exciting day in Mikumi. The evening is a great time to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and admire the African stars.

2. Day 2- Travel to Ruaha National Park

   • Morning: After breakfast, you’ll depart Mikumi and make your way to Ruaha National Park. The drive will take you through the scenic Southern Circuit of Tanzania, passing through beautiful landscapes that include villages, farmland, and natural wilderness.
   • Arrive at Ruaha National Park: Upon arrival at Ruaha, you’ll check into your luxury accommodation for the next three nights. Ruaha is one of Tanzania’s largest and most remote parks, offering a true wilderness experience. Known for its stunning landscapes, rivers, and abundant wildlife, Ruaha is a perfect spot for honeymooners seeking both adventure and relaxation.
   • Lunch: After settling in, enjoy a delicious lunch at the lodge. You’ll be able to take in the beautiful surroundings before your first game drive in Ruaha.
   • Afternoon: In the late afternoon, you’ll set out on a game drive to explore the park. Ruaha is home to large populations of elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, and lions, as well as leopards, cheetahs, and wild dogs. 
   • The park’s diverse habitats, including savannah, riverine forests, and acacia woodlands, make it an exciting place to explore.
   • Evening: Return to your lodge for a romantic dinner. Enjoy a peaceful meal while surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness, adding to the enchantment of your honeymoon safari.

3. Day 3- Full Day Safari in Ruaha National Park

   • Early Morning: Wake up early for a morning game drive in Ruaha. The park’s wide-open spaces, riverbeds, and dense bush provide a perfect habitat for a variety of animals, and early mornings are the best time to witness predators like lions and leopards in action. 
   • You’ll have the chance to watch herds of elephants coming to the river to drink, and with luck, you may encounter one of the park’s big cats hunting.
   • Midday: After your morning game drive, return to your lodge for a well-deserved lunch. Take this opportunity to relax and unwind in the tranquil environment of the park, perhaps by the pool or on your private deck overlooking the wilderness.
   • Afternoon: In the afternoon, you’ll enjoy another game drive, which may take you deeper into the park’s less-visited areas. Ruaha is known for its stunning beauty, with dramatic landscapes and excellent wildlife sightings. 4. Day 4- Morning and Afternoon Game Drives in Ruaha National Park

   • Early Morning: On your final full day in Ruaha, rise early for a morning game drive. This time of day is perfect for spotting lions, leopards, cheetahs, and other predators, as well as larger animals like elephants and buffaloes. Ruaha is also known for its birdlife, so if you're a birdwatching enthusiast, this will be an ideal time to see a wide range of species, including the colorful lilac-breasted roller and the endangered martial eagle.
   • Midday: Return to your lodge for a leisurely lunch and some downtime. You can relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings, or perhaps indulge in a spa treatment if your lodge offers one.
   • Afternoon: After lunch, you’ll head out for another game drive, or if available, you may opt for a guided walking safari. Walking safaris in Ruaha provide a different perspective of the wilderness, and your expert guide will share insights into the flora and fauna of the park, including animal tracks, plants, and birds.
   • Evening: For your final night in Ruaha, enjoy a farewell dinner under the stars. Many lodges offer bush dining experiences, where you can dine by a campfire in the heart of the park, adding an extra touch of romance and adventure to your honeymoon.

5. Day 5- Morning Safari and Departure to Dar es Salaam

   • Early Morning: On your final morning, enjoy one last game drive in Ruaha before you depart. The early morning light offers stunning photo opportunities, and you may have the chance to spot any wildlife you might have missed during your previous drives.
   • Breakfast & Check-Out: After your game drive, return to your lodge for breakfast. This is your chance to reflect on your incredible safari experience and take in the peaceful surroundings one last time before you check out.
   • Departure: After breakfast, you’ll begin your journey back to Dar es Salaam. The drive will take you through beautiful rural landscapes, and you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy the scenery on your way back. 
   • You’ll be dropped off at your hotel in Dar es Salaam or the airport for your onward travels.
