Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park

   Morning:

   • Your safari adventure begins with a pickup from your hotel in Arusha after breakfast. 
   • Enjoy the scenic drive towards Lake Manyara National Park, located about two hours away. The route offers views of rural Tanzania, with its charming villages, agricultural lands, and the stunning Rift Valley Escarpment.

   Arrival:

   • Upon entering Lake Manyara National Park, you’ll be greeted by the park's stunning landscapes, with the alkaline lake often glowing pink due to the seasonal influx of flamingos. 
   • Over 400 bird species inhabit this area, making it a birdwatcher’s paradise. The park is also home to giraffes, elephants, monkeys, and antelope, with a chance to spot the famous tree-climbing lions.

   Game Drive:

   • Start your adventure with a game drive through the park’s diverse habitats, which include lush forests, acacia woodlands, and expansive grasslands. This is an excellent opportunity to witness a variety of wildlife in their natural habitat, including the unique tree-climbing lions, a rare phenomenon.

   Lunch:

   • Enjoy a picnic lunch at one of the designated spots within the park, surrounded by the peaceful sounds of nature.

   Afternoon Game Drive: 

   • Continue exploring the park in the afternoon, visiting different areas to spot more wildlife. The soft, late-afternoon light offers perfect conditions for photography.

   Drive to Mto wa Mbu:

   • After your game drive, drive to Mto wa Mbu for an overnight stay at a local campsite. The short drive offers views of rural life and the scenic landscape of the region.

   Evening:

   • Arrive at the campsite, where you’ll enjoy a traditional camp dinner under the stars, followed by a restful night in the heart of Tanzania’s wilderness.

2. Day 2: Lake Manyara Area to Serengeti National Park

   Morning:

   • After breakfast, depart from Mto wa Mbu for a scenic journey through the highlands towards Serengeti National Park. The route takes you through lush green landscapes, offering glimpses of local villages and panoramic views of the surrounding terrain.

   Arrival:

   • Upon arrival at Serengeti, prepare for one of the most famous wildlife experiences in the world. 
   • The park’s vast plains, woodlands, and marshes are home to an incredible diversity of animals, including predators and their prey. Serengeti is renowned for the annual wildebeest and zebra migration, a spectacular natural event that you may be fortunate enough to witness depending on the season.

   Game Drive: 

   • Begin your exploration with a game drive, where your expert guide will take you to prime viewing spots. 
   • The Serengeti offers abundant opportunities to see lions, cheetahs, leopards, and other wildlife in their natural environment.

   Lunch: 

   • Enjoy a picnic lunch in the Serengeti, taking in the sweeping vistas and vibrant wildlife around you.

   Afternoon Game Drive:

   • After lunch, continue your game drive, visiting different areas of the park. The Serengeti’s stunning landscapes and diverse ecosystems provide ample chances to spot a wide variety of wildlife.

   Drive to Serengeti Campsite:

   • As the day winds down, head to your central Serengeti campsite for a well-deserved rest. Enjoy dinner under the stars as you listen to the sounds of the African wilderness.

3. Day 3: Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

   Morning: 

   • Rise early for a morning game drive in Serengeti. The park’s abundance of prey species, including gazelles and impalas, supports a thriving population of predators, making it one of the best places to spot lions, leopards, and cheetahs.
   • Breakfast: After your game drive, return to camp for a hearty breakfast before heading to Ngorongoro Crater.

   Drive to Ngorongoro:

   • Leave the Serengeti and head towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, home to one of the world’s most unique natural wonders—the Ngorongoro Crater. As you approach the crater’s rim, you’ll be treated to stunning panoramic views of this vast caldera.

   Arrival: 

   • Upon arrival at Ngorongoro, you’ll check into a campsite on the crater’s edge, offering breathtaking views over the caldera. Prepare for an unforgettable experience in one of the world’s most biodiverse environments.

   Lunch: 

   • Enjoy a picnic lunch at the campsite, taking in the views of the crater floor below.

   Afternoon:

   • Spend your afternoon relaxing at the campsite, or take in the spectacular landscapes of the area as the sun sets over the volcanic caldera.

   Evening: 

   • Enjoy dinner at the campsite and unwind as you watch the stars twinkle over the Ngorongoro Crater.

   Overnight: Hotel at Ngorongoro Crater Rim

4. Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha

   Morning: 

   • After breakfast, prepare for an early descent into the Ngorongoro Crater. 
   • The steep road leads you to the crater floor, where you’ll encounter a wide variety of wildlife, including zebras, hippos, and wildebeests. The Big Five—buffalo, rhino, lion, elephant, and leopard—are also residents of this unique ecosystem.

   Game Drive: 

   • Spend the morning exploring the crater’s floor, with ample opportunities to spot wildlife in this extraordinary environment. The rich biodiversity of the area makes for exceptional game viewing.

   Lunch: 

   • Enjoy a picnic lunch at one of the scenic spots within the crater before beginning your journey back to Arusha.
   • Drive to Arusha: After a memorable day in the Ngorongoro Crater, depart for Arusha, arriving in the late afternoon.

   Overnight:

   No overnight stay (arrival in Arusha in the afternoon)

5. Day 5: Departure from Arusha

   Morning:

   • After breakfast at your hotel or lodge, you will have the day at your leisure to relax or explore Arusha. Depending on your flight time, you may visit local markets or attractions before your departure.

   Transfer to the Airport:

   • A transfer will be arranged to take you to Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport for your departure flight.
