Description
The circuit of the Cordillera Huayhuash spans 8 days, covering a distance of 170 km with altitudes from 4300m to 5000m. The trek traverses a compact mountain range, home to diverse wildlife including condors and vicuñas. Participants will experience a variety of ecosystems and overcome several mountain passes, requiring physical fitness and a readiness to leave their comfort zone. The scenery offers pristine lagoons and remote wilderness, ideal for trekking and photography enthusiasts.
Itinerary

Day 1: Huaraz City at (3100m) - Via Villague Chiquian (3400 m) - Villague Llamac (3600) - Villague Pocpa (3600 m), Our first Camp Cuartelhuain (4180 m)
- Leaving Huaraz at 9 am, arrive at the first campsite at 3 pm after a lunch stop in Chiquian.
- There is no hiking on the first day.
- After arriving, relax and enjoy the view of Rondoy mountain and the valley, where there are often spectacular sunsets.

Day 2: Camp Cuartehuain (4180 m) - Trekking up to Pass Cacanan Punta (4700 m) - another uphill hike for the second pass at (4650 m) - Our second Camp Carhuacocha (4230 m)
- There is an early morning wake-up to start hiking up 2.5 hours to reach the first pass at 4,700m.
- Then hike downhill approximately 400m before another uphill hike for the second pass at 4,650m.
- Arrive at the campsite

Day 3: Camp Carhuacocha (4140 m) - Trekking up to Pass Siula (4830 m), Our third Camp Huayhuash (4350 m)
- There is another early morning wake-up to start hiking uphill to the pass at 4,810m.
- Today will be the famous 3 Lagunas viewpoint.
- Approximately 8 hours hiking.
- Campsite Huayhuash is at a 4,350m altitude.

Day 4: Camp Huayhuash (4350 m) - Trekking up to Pass Trapecio (5035 m), our next Camp Elefane (4360 m)
- Wake up early for the Trapasio pass at 5,041m, with an optional 40 extra minutes of hiking to reach the glacier.
- Then descend while passing 5 beautiful lakes to reach the campsite Cuyoc at 4,400m.
- Approximately 6-7 hours of hiking to reach the campsite.
- It is also optional to hike 2 hours from the campsite to San Antonio pass at 5,100m.

Day 5: Camp Elefante (4360 m) - Trekking up to Pass San Antonio (5020 m) - Hike Down via Valley Cutatambo to Village Huayllapa (3360 m)
- Today will be one of the most beautiful viewpoints of the Huayhuash trek, the Santa Rosa pass.
- Here Suila Grande can be seen, the mountain made famous by the book and movie Touching the Void.
- 19 km of walking which takes approximately 9 hours with breaks and lunch.
- The campsite is in the village of Huayllapa at 3,487m.

Day 6: Village Huayllapa - Trekking up to Tapush Pass at (4800 m) - Cashgapampa (4500 m) Camp
- The day will start early to walk 4-5 hours up to Tapush Pass at 4,800m.
- There will be a lunch stop on or before the pass before continuing to the campsite at 4,400m.
- 13 km and 7 hours of walking.

Day 7: Cashgapampa (4500 m) - Trekking up to Pass Yaucha (4830 m) - Hike Down Camp Jahuacocha (4050 m)
- Reach Yaucha Pass at 4,800m 1.5 hours after leaving the campsite.
- Then there will be a 1-hour side trip to see a mirador of 2 lakes.
- Then descend to the campsite at 4,000m.

Day 8: Camp Jahuacocha (4050 m) - Trekking up Pass Jahuapunta (4650 m) - Hike Down Village of Pocpa (3600 m); Transfer Private transport to Huaraz (3100 m)
- Last day of this trek.
- Climb the last pass – Jahua Punta – and a long descent to the camp in the village of Pocpa.
- In this village we finish our great adventure filled with so many experiences.
- Here we leave our team of mule drivers and burros.
- Our private transport is waiting to return to the capital of Andes mountaineering, Huaraz.
