Itinerary

1. Day 1: Tashkent

   • Departure from Tashkent to mountain village Chimgan (H = 1500 m, L = 90 km, T = 1 h. 30 m). 
   • We start our trekking in a good path toward to Gulkam canyon through Pesochnyi (Sandy) pass (Н = 1830 m; Т = 40 min). 
   • The saddle offers a panoramic view on Chimgansai river valley, Kyzyljar (Red Precipice), ski resort and Chimgan village. 
   • Having rested on the saddle, we start a bit steep ascent to Mt. Small Chimgan (H=2096m) Peak offers 360 degree panoramic view (Charvak lake, Chimgan valley). 
   • After an hour of descent you reach to picturesque glade surrounded by birch-trees.  
   • Further downstream one can see a narrow entrance to the Gulkam Canyon – one of the most beautiful places in Western Tian-Shan. Overnight in the tent

2. Day 2: Eastern Chimgan

   • In the morning we start our hiking by going up steady to eastern Chimgan. 
   • After 2 hours walking we reach to the green meadow where we have rest and enjoy from the majestic view of Vadaprovod waterfall.
   • After few hours hiking we reach to Gulkamsay River and meet 10 meter waterfall in 7 metres wide. 
   • Leaving the gorge behind, proceed down Gulkamsay River along a scenic canyon, crossing the stream several times, wading through the water.  
   • On your left you will see a spring gushing from under the rock.  
   • We return to Tashkent (L=110km; T=1hr 20min) via Yangikurgan and Yusupkhona villages and Charvak water.
