Morning/Afternoon:
08:00 AM / 02:00 PM – Arrival at Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park:
- You will be picked up from your accommodation and transferred to Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park (about a 20-minute from Livingstone).
- Upon arrival, your professional guide will provide a briefing on safety, walking etiquette, and the goals of the walk. It’s essential to follow the guide’s instructions during the experience, as you will be on foot in close proximity to the wildlife.
08:15 AM / 02:15 PM – Start of the Rhino Walk:
- The walk begins in the park, home to several white rhinos. The guide will lead you along a safe route where you may encounter the rhinos up close in their natural habitat.
- Safety First: The guide will ensure the group maintains a safe distance from the rhinos while offering an up-close view of these magnificent animals. The walking safari is slow-paced to give you plenty of time to observe and photograph.
08:30 AM / 02:30 PM – Observing the Rhinos and Learning About Them:
- As you approach the rhinos, the guide will share fascinating facts about their behaviour, diet, and the park’s conservation efforts to protect them. The guide will also explain how rhinos interact with their environment and other wildlife.
- Depending on the time of day, you may see the rhinos grazing, resting, or interacting with each other.
- You’ll also likely encounter other wildlife, such as zebras, giraffes, antelopes, and a variety of bird species along the walk. The park offers diverse flora and fauna, and your guide will highlight the ecosystem's interesting aspects.
09:00 AM / 02:45 PM – Additional Wildlife Viewing & Nature Walk:
- While the main focus is on the rhinos, the walk may also take you through areas of the park where you can view other animals and learn about the vegetation that supports them.
- The guide will explain how the local plants and trees are used by wildlife for food or shelter and will offer insights into the park’s broader conservation work.
09:30 AM / 03:15 PM – Concluding the Rhino Walk:
- The group will return to the park’s starting point as the walk concludes.
- The guide will summarize the experience and provide an opportunity to ask questions about rhino conservation, the park, and wildlife.
End of Rhino Walk:
09:45 AM / 03:30 PM – Return to Accommodation:
- After the walk, you will be transferred back to your accommodation in Livingstone, arriving back at your hotel in time to relax and enjoy the rest of your day.
