- During this trip, we will provide a lot of information about the city of Samarkand, we will be amazed by the monuments built during the time of Amir Temur.
- On this walking tour of the city, you will see:
- Gur-Emir Mausoleum where, sadly, Amir Temur is buried with his sons and grandson;
- Registan Square, the beating heart of the ancient and the modern city;
- Bibi-Khanym Mosque, named for Amir Temur’s favorite wife;
- Shakhi-Zinda Necropolis, where you will find tombs from as early as the 11th century; and
- Ulugbek Observatory, where the grandson of Amir Temur calculated the length of a year that was only off by 25 seconds–more accurate than Nicolaus Copernicus who was off by 30 seconds.
