Itinerary
-
Take a Sacred Valley Tour of Pisac and Ollantaytambo from Cusco
- In the morning, at approximately 07:30 Hrs. - we will pick you up at your hotel or accommodation in Cusco, and then we will start the tour to the Sacred Valley of the Incas; we will go by bus to Pisac, and on the route, we will make some stops to visit points of interest such as viewpoints of the Vilcanota River and the Sacred Valley.
- Once we arrive at the archaeological site of Pisac, we will visit the Inca citadel of Pisac, located on the top of the mountain, to visit the Inca neighborhoods, the cemetery, the terraces and their functions.
- Then, we will descend by bus to the district of Pisac, where you can visit and see some of the local crafts that were made by Andean metallurgy.
- Later, we head to the city of Urubamba, traveling along the banks of the Vilcanota River; after arriving, we will enjoy a succulent buffet lunch at a local restaurant and try Peruvian cuisine and more.
- After our pleasant buffet lunch, we will take the transport to the Archaeological site of Ollantaytambo, named after the Inca General Ollanta, famous for his romance with an Inca princess, the daughter of Pachacútec. In this park, we can see megalithic remains weighing approximately 45 tons, carved in pink porphyry rock, as well as spaces of purely religious use, water fountains and tambos that also served as supplies or places of rest.
- Then, in our transport, we go to the archaeological site of Chinchero, which is characterized by the existence of a colonial Catholic church which is built on an Inca palace, a sign of the imposition of the Catholic religion on the Andean culture upon the arrival of the conquerors. Chinchero is also characterized by its textiles, which are produced in an artisanal way, using techniques acquired from generation to generation since the Inca era. You can visit a local craft center to appreciate these production processes of colors based on natural products for dyeing different wools, whether llama or alpaca.
- Finally, after this wonderful view, we will prepare to return to the city of Cusco, thus culminating this unforgettable experience in the city center at approximately 7:00 p.m.
