1. Health & Safety:
Vaccinations: Ensure you're up to date with vaccinations recommended for travel to Tanzania, including yellow fever (if traveling from a country with risk of transmission), typhoid, hepatitis A & B, and malaria prevention.

3. Weather & Packing:
Climate: Tanzania has a tropical climate with two rainy seasons: the long rains from March to May, and the short rains from November to December. You’ll experience a dry season from June to October, which is the best time for safaris.
Temperatures: Temperatures can vary significantly from day to night, especially in the highlands around Ngorongoro. Daytime is warm, but it can be chilly in the early morning and evenings. Layered clothing is essential.
Altitude: Areas like Ngorongoro Crater are at high altitudes (around 2,200 meters/7,200 feet), so you might experience some mild altitude effects, such as shortness of breath or dizziness, but it's usually not an issue for most people.
4. Safari Etiquette & Safety:
Respect Wildlife: Always stay inside the vehicle during game drives, as wildlife can be unpredictable. Never attempt to touch or approach animals.
Be Quiet: Avoid loud talking, sudden movements, or honking the horn, as it can disturb the animals and other visitors.
Photography: Photography is encouraged, but be mindful of flash photography, especially with nocturnal animals or at close range. Always ask before photographing people.

Tipping: Tipping is customary in Tanzania. Guides and lodge staff typically receive tips, generally ranging from $10 to $20 per day for a guide, and $5 to $10 per day for camp or lodge staff, depending on the service provided.
Greetings: Tanzanians are generally friendly, and greeting people with a "Jambo" (hello) or "Habari" (how are you?) is appreciated.
6. Electrical & Connectivity:
Voltage: Tanzania uses a 230V supply voltage with Type G (UK-style) plugs. Be sure to bring the correct adapter and voltage converter if needed.
Wi-Fi & Connectivity: Wi-Fi may be available in some lodges, but it’s often slow and unreliable in remote areas. It’s a great time to disconnect and enjoy the safari experience!
7. What to Expect on Safari:
Game Drives: Safaris typically start early in the morning and resume in the late afternoon. Expect bumpy but exciting drives over varying terrain.
