Itinerary

1. Day 1: Surabaya/Malang – Tumpak Sewu Waterfall – Bromo Area

   • 06.00 – 09.30: Depart from Surabaya/Malang and drive to Tumpak Sewu Waterfall.
   • 09.30 – 12.30: Meet the local guide and go together to one of the most visited Waterfalls in Indonesia.
   • 12.30 – 16.30: Around 2-3 hours after enjoying the Waterfall, we will go to the next Hotel in Bromo Area. Once you reach the Hotel, you will have some time to spare at your convenience by strolling around the hotel, the nearby farming area, witnessing the daily activities of the Tenggerese people, or just relaxing at the hotel.

2. Day 2: Sunrise Mt Penanjakan – Sea of Sand – Bromo Crater –Bondowoso/Banyuwangi

   • 03.00: Wake up at the early morning
   • 03.00 – 04.30: Get ready to be picked up at 3.00 am by a 4WD-vehicle to experience the bumpy road to reach Mt. Penanjakan, which is the best spot to enjoy the breathtaking scene of Bromo sunrise.
   • 04.30 – 05.00: Take a coffee break while waiting the sunrise
   • 05.00 – 06.00: Enjoy the Bromo sunrise
   • 06.00 – 07.00: Head to Mount Bromo crater. 
     • Driving down the hill, you will pass the vast sea of sand, resulting from the eruption of Mt. Bromo, in a 30 minute-easy track all the way to the peak. 
     • From the crater rim, you can see the active Bromo crater, caldera and the mountainous views of Mt. Batok and the highest mountain in Java Island, Mt. Semeru. 
     • Also, you can find the Hindu temple reflecting the Majapahit history. If you are lucky, you will be able to witness the Yadnya Kasada ceremony, a Tenggerese festival held every 14th of the Kasada month, to honor Sang Hyang Widhi the Almighty God, Roro Anteng the daughter of King Majapahit and Joko Seger the son of Brahmana. 
   • 07.00 – 08.00: Volcano climbing
   • 08.00 – 09.00: Get back from Bromo crater and stop over for breakfast in local restaurant.
   • 09.00 – 15.30: Drive to your hotel in Bondowoso / Banyuwangi.

3. Day 3: Mount Ijen – Ketapang Port or Surabaya/Malang

   • 23.30 – 02.00 Wake up at early morning and drive to Paltuding of Mt. Ijen Crater (Breakfast provided in a breakfast box)
   • 02.00 – 04.00 Begin an hour trek to Ijen Crater to witness the Blue Fire phenomenon
   • 04.00 – 06.00 Enjoy the fascinating view of Mt. Ijen
   • 06.00 – 07.30 Going down from Mt Ijen
   • 07.30 – 08.00 Have breakfast (the hotel will provide you with a Breakfast Box)‬
   • 08.00 – 09.00 Drive to Ketapang Port or Surabaya / Malang
