Itinerary

Okinawa: The Cradle of Karate, Martial Arts of Peace
- Visit the Funakoshi Gichin "Karate ni sente nashi" monument.
- Head to Shuri Castle Site and Stone Pavement in Kinjo Town.
- Venture to Shikina Royal Garden (if time allows). Please kindly note that the garden is closed on Wednesdays.
- Descend to the Tombstone of Founders.
- Next, head to Karate Kaikan (if time allows). Please kindly note that the hall is closed on Wednesdays.
- Savour a delicious lunch followed by Kobudo Dojo Lesson and Okinawa Kobudo Museum.
- Experience Karate Dojo Lesson of any school you like.

Also, try a lesson in a dojo of Okinawa Kobudo, whose opportunity can be small in your country but is very popular among the practitioners of Okinawa Martial Arts! I will introduce you to the most traditional school of Okinawa Karate: Shorinryu (or any dojo of another school you like) and one of the most famous dojos of Okinawa Kobudo presided by Nakamoto Mamoru Sensei! We will explore the places associated with the Great Karate Masters and the tombstone of the founder you admire to feel what life was like back in time! I am happy to customize your tour!

What To Bring

For Kobudo lesson, you can wear any casual clothes you feel comfortable to move your body.

For Karate lesson, you can bring your own dogi, or some of the dojo provide a rental dogi service.

Karate dojo I usually choose have the rental service, which is included in the price above, JPY5000. However, if you choose another dojo, I will contact the dojo first to let you know.
