Day 1: Drive to Iskandarkul Lake from Dushanbe
- In the morning, you will travel to Iskandarkul Lake over Anzob Pass at an altitude of 3,372 m. With a fantastic panorama view through spectacular mountain scenery, it is one of the most beautiful lakes in Tajikistan, at an altitude of 2,195 m. Iskandarkul Lake was named after Alexander the Great, who allegedly visited the lake from Central Asia to India.
- After arriving at the lake, you will walk along its shores, a great resting place. Then you will hike to see a waterfall called the “Fann Niagara”, which falls from 38 meters high.
- You will also visit “Kuli Moron” (Lake of Snakes). A two-minute hike from the lake will give you a fantastic viewpoint of Iskanderkul Lake.
- After resting near the lake, you will head back to Dushanbe.
