Itinerary
-
Day 1: Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut
- You will be picked up in the morning at your hotel in Moshi and taken to the Kilimanjaro National Park gate (Marangu Gate, 1860m). The drive will take approximately 1 hour. Your trek can begin and you will soon be hiking through the dense Kilimanjaro rainforest. With impressive vegetation, you will have the chance to catch a glimpse of black and white Colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, and various bird species. The guide will inform you about Kilimanjaro and will explain the different species of plants and animals you will see on the way.
- After a 3-4 hour hike, you will reach Mandara Hut (2720m), rest and have lunch. Your guide will then take you on a short hike (15 minutes walking distance) to the Maundi Crater, where you will enjoy wonderful views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Afterwards, you'll descend to the Marangu Gate for 2 hours where your vehicle will be waiting. You'll transfer back to your hotel. On your return journey, you will enjoy the sunset and the day‘s memories.
-
Day 2: Explore Materuni Waterfall
- The Materuni waterfall tour starts with a walk through the area adjacent to the waterfall, which is rich in the beautiful natural scenery of Tanzania. It's an opportunity to experience the whole process of making coffee from shamba to the table ready for use before swimming in the natural pool with fresh water from the roof of Africa—Kilimanjaro.
- Serengeti Wildlife Safari driver will be at your hotel in the morning, and after finishing your breakfast, the journey to Materuni will start. Our local guide will welcome you at the village and guide you in all activities. Local African food will be prepared and you will enjoy your lunch in the materuni village, what a nice day with Serengeti wildlife safaris.
- After you finish all the activities at Materuni Village, our driver will take you back to Arusha Zawadi House overnight, where you will await a next-day adventure in Tarangire National Park.
-
Day 3: Nature Discover in Tarangire National Park
- You will be met by our driver guide who will deliver a short briefing. Afterward, you'll head to the Tarangire National Park for a game drive. The park runs along the line of the Tarangire River and is mainly made up of low-lying hills on the Great Rift Valley floor. Its natural vegetation mainly consists of acacia woodland and giant African baobab trees, with huge swamp areas in the south.
- During Tanzania's dry season, both the river and the swamps act like magnets for wild animals. The Tarangire National Park is reputed to contain some of the largest elephant herds in Africa. This African national park is also home to three rare species of animals: the greater kudu, the fringe-eared oryx, and a few Ashy starlings.
- You'll have a picnic lunch, after which you'll continue with the game drives until late evening. Then, you'll drive to your overnight accommodation.
-
Day 4: Karatu to Serengeti National Park
- Early in the morning, you will drive via the cooler highlands towards the southern Serengeti, and at midday, you will reach the plains of the Serengeti National Park. This park is the largest in Tanzania and has a diversity of habitats and landscapes—short grass plains, savannah, thick bush, swamps, and lakes. It also has bizarre rock formations called kopjes dotting the grassy landscape where predators are often seen. The Serengeti is famous for its yearly migration, during which hundreds of thousands of wildebeests and zebras trek to find fresh grass and water. You will spend the night at Tukaone Serengeti Camp inside the park.
-
Day 5: Serengeti NP to Ngorongoro Crater
- On this day, you will descend over 600m into the crater to view wildlife for a half-day safari tour. Supported by a year-round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro Crater supports a wide variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebras, buffalos, elands, warthogs, hippos, and giant African elephants.
- Another big draw card to this picturesque national park is its dense predator population, including lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the ever-elusive leopards, which sometimes require a trained eye to spot. You will visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner, which is one of the main features of the crater. Many flamingos, hippos, and other water birds can be seen here. After lunch, you will ascend from the crater and return to Arusha.
-
Day 6: Chemka hot spring
- This naturally heated Chemka Hot Springs is an easy Arusha day trip swim in a beautiful forest site. It’s a relaxing experience after a long safari in this area. The water is clean and warm enough to encourage swimming. It’s the best place to finalize your tour trip and make it unforgettable.
- Enjoy your whole day here. Have lunch until the evening, when our driver will drive you back, whether to the hotel or directly to the airport, depending on your schedule.
