Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arrival in Moshi

   • Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to your hotel in Moshi.
   • Attend a pre-climb briefing with your guide to review the climb details and check your gear.
   • Spend the evening resting and preparing for the adventure ahead.

2. Day 2: Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut

   • Start the trek at Marangu Gate (1,860m) and hike through dense rainforest to Mandara Hut (2,700m).
   • Enjoy the lush scenery and spot blue monkeys.

   Overnight at Mandara Hut.

3. Day 3: Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut

   • Ascend through moorland and heather to Horombo Hut (3,720m). The landscape transitions to open plains with giant lobelias.
   • Enjoy panoramic views of Kibo and Mawenzi peaks.

   Overnight at Horombo Hut.

4. Day 4: Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut

   • Continue the climb across the alpine desert to Kibo Hut (4,703m). The terrain becomes more barren and rocky.
   • Rest early at Kibo Hut in preparation for the summit attempt.

5. Day 5: Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak and Back to Horombo Hut

   • Begin the summit ascent at midnight. Reach Gilman’s Point (5,685m) at sunrise, then continue to Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the highest point in Africa.
   • After celebrating at the summit, descend to Horombo Hut for a well-deserved rest.

6. Day 6: Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate and Departure

   • Descend through the moorland and rainforest to Marangu Gate.
   • Receive your summit certificates and say farewell to your guides.
   • Transfer back to Moshi for departure or relaxation at your hotel.
