Itinerary

1. Day 1: Depart from Iquitos city to explore the wildlife at Amazons

   • Depart from Iquitos City via auto to arrive in the port town of Nanay (Bellavista), where the Rio Nanay meets the Rio Amazonas. After departing by boat we will travel downriver 70 KM (about 2 hours).  We will have a great chance to see caimans, turtles, herons, pink river dolphins, snakes, and many other species of flora/fauna along the riverbank.
   • Visit Monkey Island, which is a shelter for thousands of monkeys including Sloth, Goeldi’s monkey, Tamarin monkey, Capuchin monkey, Yellow-Handed Titi monkey, Masked Titi monkey, Cebidae monkey, Wooly monkey, Spider monkey, and many more! We will be holding very large Anacondas, and Boas and interacting with a very unique and rare Amazonian mata-mata turtle.
   • Enjoy the thrilling experience of catching piranha, catfish & other species of fish.
   • Get a chance to swim with Pink Freshwater Dolphins on the main Amazon River.
   • Hop on a nocturnal nature hike to spot the different species of flora and fauna.

   Overnight at Maniti Eco-Lodge.

2. Day 2: Visit the local tribe to explore their culture

   • Hike in the jungle to have the unique opportunity to see different species of monkeys, birds, and Amazonian plants.
   • Depart from Maniti Lodge for Iquitos City.
   • Visit a local native indigenous tribe to learn and observe their history and customs.
   • See Victoria Regia – the largest freshwater aquatic plant in the world.
   • Transfer to airport/hotel.
