Discover the great civilization of ancient Egypt across Cairo, Luxor, and Aswan. In Cairo, visit one of the world's seven wonders at the Giza Plateau, see the extraordinary human-headed lion of the Sphinx, explore the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, and admire the fantastic architecture of Coptic and Islamic Cairo. The itinerary

Day 01

Giza Pyramids, Saqqara and Memphis

We will pick you up from your Cairo or Giza hotel to begin the tour and transfer you to one of the wonders of the ancient world. Visit the impressive three pyramids of Kings Cheops, Chephren, and Menkaure, guarded by the rock-cut statue of the Sphinx. The Great Pyramid of King Cheops is the only one of the seven wonders of the ancient world still standing today. Enjoy a camel ride for half an hour.
Then continue to the Saqqara Complex, which belongs to King Zoser and includes his Step Pyramid, considered the first pyramid in Egypt and the first rock-cut building in history. After that, move on to Memphis, one of the ancient capitals of Egypt until around 2200 BC. It was a cult center for Ptah, the god of creation and artworks, and you will find many temples and monuments dedicated to him there.
After finishing the tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Cairo.

Day 02

Egyptian Museum and Coptic Cairo

After breakfast, your guide will escort you to continue your journey through history, starting with the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities. Built in 1902, it exhibits a large number of items and treasures, exceeding 120,000 masterpieces, dating back to the ancient Egyptian and Greco-Roman periods, including the marvellous collection of the golden child king Tut Ankh Amon.
After that, proceed to a new era in Coptic Cairo, where you will visit the Hanging Church, which dates back to the 3rd century AD and was dedicated to the Virgin Mary. It is called "Hanging" because of its location above the gatehouse of the ancient Roman fortress of Babylon. Then visit Saints Sergius and Bacchus Church, which is believed to have been built on the spot where the Holy Family rested.
You will also visit the Jewish Synagogue of Ben Ezra, which gained its importance from its Geniza, or storeroom, discovered during the 19th century and containing a treasure of abandoned Hebrew secular and sacred manuscripts.
End the tour at Khan el-Khalili Bazaar, one of Cairo's main attractions. This historic district became a bazaar where you will find many souvenir shops, coffeehouses, and cafes serving Arabic coffee.

Day 03

Karnak and Luxor Temple on the East Bank

Your tour guide will escort you to visit the two massive temples on the eastern bank of the Nile. The first is the Karnak Temples Complex, which comprises a vast mix of decayed temples, chapels, pylons, and other buildings. It is a vast open-air museum and the second-largest ancient religious site in the world. It was mainly a place of worship for the Theban triad: God Amon, his consort Mut, and their son Khunso.
Then visit Luxor Temple, where one of the ancient Egyptian festivals is believed to have been held, as different scenes on the walls represent the celebration of the festival. It is a religious site that reflects several eras, including a pharaonic temple, Roman columns, a Christian church, and an Islamic mosque.
Then go to the hotel to check in. At night, enjoy discovering the town by carriage and stay overnight in Luxor.

Day 04

Valley of the Kings and Luxor West Bank

After breakfast, your guide will lead you to visit the west bank of the Nile, including the Valley of the Kings, where you will see the well-preserved tombs of the kings of the New Kingdom, including the great ruler Ramses II and the child king Tut Ankh Amon. Continue to the Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, called the "Holy of Holies." It is one of the best architectural buildings and consists of three levels connected by ramps. The temple is mainly dedicated to the worship of the supreme god Amon-Ra. You will also see the two Colossi of Memnon, two massive statues representing King Amenhotep III in a seated position.
After this, enjoy an Egyptian meal with an Egyptian family, then return by air-conditioned vehicle to the hotel.

Day 05

Transfer from Luxor to Aswan via Esna, Edfu and Kom Ombo

In the morning, your guide will escort you by air-conditioned vehicle to beautiful Aswan. On the way, visit the Temple of Khnum at Esna. The Temple of Esna was built for the creator god Khnum and his family. The temple has been cleaned today, and its beautiful scenes have reappeared, conveying a sense of the importance that the ancient Egyptians placed on their places of worship. All Egyptians who entered the confines of an Egyptian temple were required to comply with strict rules regarding ritual purity.
Along the way, after about another hour, you will visit one of the most complete temples, Edfu, the temple of Horus, before continuing toward Aswan.
Drive to Kom Ombo Temple, the temple of the two brothers, which stands on high ground overlooking the Nile. It differs from other temples because of its double entrance, with each side dedicated to a different divinity: Haroeris with his falcon head and Sobek with his crocodile head.

Day 06

Abu Simbel and Felucca Ride in Aswan

Pick up early to start the tour toward Abu Simbel, around 3 hours' drive, to visit the most famous temples, the Great and Small Temples of King Ramses II and his wife, Queen Nefertari. The most spectacular aspect of this temple is its setting in the solid rock above the banks of the Nile River. The complex is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site known as the Nubian Monuments, which runs from Abu Simbel downriver to Philae near Aswan. It is believed that the axis of the temple was positioned by the ancient Egyptian architects in such a way that on October 22 and February 22, the rays of the sun would penetrate the sanctuary and illuminate the sculptures on the back wall, except for the statue of Ptah, the god connected with the Underworld.
Later, enjoy a felucca ride around the islands of Aswan before sunset, taking in the magnificent scenery and the fresh breeze.

Day 07

Unfinished Obelisk, High Dam and Philae Temple

Pick up to visit the Unfinished Obelisk and see how the ancient Egyptians cut the stone and used it to build obelisks and statues.
Then continue to Aswan High Dam, one of the most significant achievements of the last century in Egypt.
After that, visit the Temple of Isis at Philae. It was dedicated to the goddess Isis, who was considered the mother of the god Horus and the consort of the god Osiris.
