Itinerary

1. Day 01: Arrival In Paro Airport and Drive to the Thimphu

2. Day 02: In Thimphu

   • Immerse yourself in the cultural and historical treasures of Thimphu with a full day of sightseeing. Begin your exploration at the National Memorial Chorten, a revered shrine dedicated to world peace and adorned with intricate Bhutanese architectural details. 
   • Visit the Tashichho Dzong, a majestic fortress-monastery and seat of Bhutan's government and religious affairs, offering insights into Bhutanese art and culture. 
   • Explore the National Folk Heritage Museum and the Simply Bhutan Museum to learn about Bhutan's rich cultural heritage through interactive exhibits and traditional artifacts. Stroll through the vibrant markets and local shops, where you can find unique handicrafts, textiles, and souvenirs to commemorate your visit.

3. Day 03: Thimphu To Gangtey

   • Depart from Thimphu for Gangtey, a scenic journey of approximately 6-7 hours covering approximately 150 kilometers. The road winds through Dochula Pass, adorned with 108 memorial stupas and offering panoramic views of the Himalayan peaks on clear days. 
   • Descend into the Phobjikha Valley, a pristine glacial valley renowned for its scenic beauty and the endangered black-necked cranes that migrate here in winter. Explore Gangtey Monastery, an architectural marvel perched on a ridge overlooking the valley, and immerse yourself in the tranquillity of this picturesque destination.

4. Day 04: Gangtey To Punakha/Wangdue

   • Continue your exploration with a picturesque drive from Gangtey to Punakha/Wangdue, approximately 6-7 hours covering approximately 85 kilometers. The journey takes you through lush forests and traditional villages, offering glimpses of rural life and the natural beauty of Bhutan's countryside. 
   • Arrive in Punakha, the ancient capital of Bhutan, nestled at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers. Visit Punakha Dzong, a magnificent fortress-monastery known for its elaborate architecture and historical significance, and take leisurely walks along the riverbanks surrounded by subtropical vegetation.

5. Day 05: Punakha/Wangdue To Paro

   • Depart Punakha/Wangdue for Paro, a scenic drive of approximately 3-4 hours covering approximately 125 kilometers. The journey retraces some of the stunning landscapes you've encountered, providing another opportunity to soak in the natural beauty of Bhutan's countryside. 
   • Arrive in Paro, a historic valley renowned for its sacred sites and cultural richness. Explore Paro Rinpung Dzong, a fortress-monastery overlooking the Paro Valley, and visit the National Museum housed in the Ta Dzong (watchtower), showcasing Bhutanese art, artifacts, and historical exhibits.

6. Day 06:In Paro

   • Spend your final day in Bhutan exploring the scenic town of Paro at your leisure. Consider a hike to Paro Taktsang (Tiger's Nest) Monastery, perched on a cliffside and offering breathtaking views of the valley below.

7. Day 07: Depart From Paro

   • Conclude your Bhutanese adventure with a transfer to Paro International Airport for your onward departure flight.
