Description
Yen Tu Mountain is located about 50 kilometres from Ha Long City. The heritage site is mainly situated in a mountainous region about 600m above sea level. With its peak at 1,068m above sea level, Yen Tu is famous for its beautiful natural landscape and cultural heritage, and it is called the ancestral land of Truc Lam Zen Buddhism in Vietnam. With its unique landscape, architecture, culture and history, Yen Tu Relic and Landscape Complex have been recognised as a special national relic, and a dossier is being prepared to submit to UNESCO to recognise the complex as a World Heritage Site.

Yen Tu Mountain Day Trip From Halong Port
- Pick up at your cruise port gate (Halong International Cruise Ship Port) and drive 1.5 hours to Yen Tu Mountain.
- Pass through Halong's picturesque countryside, villages with bamboo fences and limestone walls.
- Upon arrival, board the cable car for a breathtaking ride to Yen Tu Mountain.
- Admire the landscape with ancient pagodas and temples in pristine forests.
- Explore Yen Tu pagodas, temples, and towers in a 2,800-hectare reserve.
- Capture stunning limestone mountains.
- Hike 500m uphill (250 steps), shaded by green pine trees, to Hue Quang Tower Garden. See the statue of Buddhist King Tran Nhan Tong.
- Ascend 150 steps to Hoa Yen Pagoda from the 11th century Ly Dynasty.
- Return to the foothill by cable car.
- Visit Truc Lam Monastery, headquarters of Truc Lam Zen Buddhism Sect. Established by King Tran Nhan Tong after the victory over Mongol invasions.
