Itinerary

1. Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Mgahinga Forest With a Stopover at Kigali Genocide Memorial

   • You will be picked up from the airport and taken to the hotel for check-in and breakfast.
   • Drive to the Kigali genocide memorial, a significant historical site dedicated to honouring the victims of the 1994 genocide. The memorial provides a comprehensive overview of the events leading up to the genocide, the atrocities committed, and the efforts of reconciliation and healing. It includes exhibits, personal stories, and a serene garden where visitors can pay their respects. Spend 1-2 hours there, then drive to Uganda via Musanze town through the Cyanika border.
   •  Arrive at your hotel in Kisoro town, and spend your evening leisurely.

2. Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience

   • Report to the park offices for the briefing, then embark on a trek through the lush forest, guided by experienced rangers. The thrill of encountering these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat is indescribable. 
   • Observe them interacting, feeding, and caring for their young. End with a sense of awe and a deep appreciation for these incredible animals. 
   • Return to our accommodation and reflect on the day's remarkable adventure, surrounded by the comforts of the hotel amenities.

3. Day 3: Golden Monkey Tracking - Kigali

   • After breakfast, return to Mgahinga forest by 8 am for a briefing about the tracking experience. 
   • Then, head for a forest walk to track these playful primates in the bamboo forest. The experience is delightful, encountering these lively primates in their natural habitat. The golden monkeys' playful interactions and unique behaviours make the experience truly memorable. 
   • After a satisfying encounter, enjoy a leisurely lunch before returning to Kigali, concluding our enriching 3-day primate tour.
