Sarnath has several monuments, including statues, monasteries, temples, and museums. Some ruined monuments exist from thousands of years back, such as Dhamekh Stupa, where Buddha taught about his Dhamma, which King Ashoka built. The Mulgandh Kuti Vihar is another example of the Gupta period, which represents when Buddha used to meditate. Then there is Dharmarajika Stupa, where relics of Buddha were brought after his death. There is an extensive Museum built in 1910 by the British, which has several different types of statues
