Itinerary
-
Day 1: Coast Beach Hotel to Tsavo East
- After breakfast, your driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel and depart from your beach resort at Watamu Malindi, Mombasa, or Diani to Tsavo East National Park.
- You then proceed to the Bachuma gate of Tsavo East National Park.
- Together with your safari guide, continue with a game viewing en route to Ashnil Aruba Safari Lodge for lunch.
- Spend the afternoon at leisure by the swimming pool as you wait for the day to cool down for a late afternoon game viewing in Tsavo East National Park.
-
Day 2: Tsavo East to Amboseli National Park
- Enjoy a pre-breakfast safari in Tsavo East National Park. After breakfast, proceed to Amboseli National Park with a game drive en route.
- Amboseli National Park is famous for viewing a large herd of elephants nearby. Other park attractions include meeting the Maasai and visiting a Maasai village. The park also has views of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest free-standing mountain in Africa. Amboseli was home to Echo, perhaps the most researched elephant in the world and the subject of many books and documentaries. He was followed for almost four decades by American conservationist Dr. Cynthia Moss.
- The park offers some of the best opportunities to see African wildlife because the vegetation is sparse due to the long, dry months. The protected area is home to African bush elephants, Cape buffaloes, impalas, lions, cheetahs, and spotted hyenas.
Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the lodge.
-
Day 3: Amboseli National Park to Tsavo West
- Breakfast is followed by an extensive game drive in Amboseli National Park before heading to Tsavo West National Park. Tsavo West has a variety of wildlife, such as the Eastern black rhinoceros, hippopotamus, Cape buffalo, elephant, leopard, and lion. Other smaller animals can be spotted, such as the bush baby, hartebeest, lesser kudu, and Maasai giraffe.
- Apart from wildlife, you will visit Mzima Springs, which is one of Tsavo's most popular wildlife attractions owing to its resident populations of hippo and Nile crocodiles. Mzima's isolation makes both species dependent on its waters as other sources are too distant for them to reach by overland travel. The hippos also sustain an entire food chain. They browse the surrounding savannah by night and return to Mzima's pools daily, where their dung fertilizes the water. Fruiting trees such as the date, raffia palms, water berries, and figs grow beside the water.
Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the lodge.
-
Day 4:Tsavo West to Taita Hill Wildlife Sanctuary
- Have an early morning breakfast and then check out of the lodge as you leave for the mid-morning game drive.
- Later, drive to Taita Hills Game Sanctuary. Upon entering the sanctuary, begin a game-viewing drive as you drive toward Taita Hills Game Lodge for lunch.
- Enjoy an afternoon safari game drive, dinner, and an overnight stay at the Salt Lick Safari Lodge.
- After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary is a privately owned wildlife sanctuary and national park in Kenya. It is located in Taita-Taveta county, approximately 220 kilometres from Mombasa. It hosts Cape buffalo, African bush elephant, leopard, lion, cheetah, Maasai giraffe, zebra, hartebeest, impala, waterbuck, Thomson's gazelle, lesser kudu, dik-dik, hyena, and other smaller animals including a diversity of birdlife.
-
Day 5: Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary to Coastal Beach Hotel
- After breakfast, depart from the lodge at 9:00 am for an early morning game drive.
- Enjoy en-route game viewing as we exit the Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary.
- The journey will then continue up to every resort at Watamu, Malindi, Mombasa, or Diani Beach to arrive in time for you to enjoy a relaxed beach dinner.
