Itinerary

1. Day 1: Nairobi to Maasai Mara National Reserve

   • Pick up from your hotel or airport and commence the drive to Maasai Mara via the Great Rift Valley viewpoint where you will have a breathtaking view of the floor of the rift valley.
   • Arrive in time for lunch at the camp.
   • At 4:00 pm, depart for a game viewing drive in the Mara Reserve, ending at 6:00 pm.
   • Return back to the camp for a sumptuous buffet dinner, ending with good time for resting.

   Dinner and overnight at Rhino Camp or similar accommodation.

2. Day 2: Full day exploring the Maasai Mara

   • Have breakfast at 6:30 am and at 7 am, leave for a full day game viewing in the park.
   • On this day, spend the full day exploring Maasai Mara in search of the big five, hippos, and Nile crocodile.
   • Thereafter, go for a picnic lunch in the park under a croton tree shade overlooking the vast landscape of the park.
   • It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place: the great migration. This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (in Tanzania) in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savanna – lions, cheetahs, jackals, hyenas, and vultures.

   Accommodation at Rhino Tourist Camp or similar.

3. Day 3: Maasai Mara to Serengeti via Isebania Border

   • Early morning breakfast, check out, and thereafter depart for Serengeti through the Isebania border.
   • Arrive at the border at lunchtime. It takes approximately 30 minutes to process getting a visa.
   • Hand over to our Tanzanian driver and cook. In Tanzania, we use a 4-wheel-drive Land Cruiser.

   Enjoy a picnic lunch on the way.

   Dinner and overnight at Seronera.

4. Day 4: Full day in Serengeti National Park

   • Breakfast at the camp and thereafter proceed for a full day tour with packed lunches.
   • The Serengeti National Park is a large national park in northern Tanzania that stretches over 14,763 km². It is located entirely in eastern Mara Region and the northeast portion of Simiyu Region and contains over 1,500,000 hectares of virgin savanna. The park was established in 1940.
   • The Serengeti is well known for the largest annual animal migration in the world of over 1.5 million blue wildebeest and 250,000 zebra along with smaller herds of Thomas’ Gazelle and eland. The national park is also home to the largest lion population in Africa.

   Dinner and overnight at the campsite.

5. Day 5: Serengeti to Arusha

   • Early breakfast at the campsite and thereafter check out with packed lunch and drive back to Arusha with drop off at your hotel or airport.
