Description
Today, you will enjoy a tour of Lecce, known as Florence of Southern Italy, because of the presence of important historical buildings and prominent churches, most of them in Baroque style. Visit the most beautiful churches, such as the famous Basilica di Santa Croce, dating to 1549 and restored in 1689, really a masterpiece of Lecce Baroque, or the Duomo, with its triumphal arch style façade and the impressive height of its bell tower. During the walk, we will also be able to admire some craft shops where leccese stone, papier-mâché, and refined fabrics are worked. We will take advantage of a break to taste the traditional "leccese coffee" or a delicious pasticciotto, a delight for the palate made of simple crumbly pastry and custard.
