Description
Embark on a 1-hour tour departing from your hotel at 6:00 am, heading towards the lush Shimba Hills National Reserve. Enjoy a game drive upon arrival, seeking elusive forest elephants, sable antelopes, and other wildlife. Then, join a ranger for a bushwalk to the enchanting Sheldrick Waterfalls, where you can dip beneath the cascades. Next, revel in scenic vistas and a rejuvenating swim before our return journey, culminating in an evening arrival at your beachfront haven.

Shimba Hills Game Reserve
- We pick you up from your Hotel at about 6:00 am and drive along the Mombasa – Diani highway towards Kwale town to Shimba Hills National Reserve.
- Upon arrival at the park's main gate, we begin your game drive, searching for a few shy animals such as forest elephants, sable antelopes, buffalo, warthogs, impalas, baboons, and other types of animals and birds. Unlike other national parks, Shimba Hills is more densely covered by forest, so it is more of a scenic safari than a wildlife safari. Consider spotting the hidden wildlife as a plus.
- At 10:00 am, we stop at a lookout point to join a ranger for a bushwalk to the Sheldrick Waterfalls. It's quite a long and exciting hike, so a good pair of walking shoes is recommended. You can also dip under the falls, so remember to bring a towel and a change of clothes. After a few minutes of enjoying the waterfalls, you walk back uphill to the vehicle and continue the game drive until you reach the main gate. We then exit the park and proceed for lunch and rest at Shimba Hills Green Safari Lodge or similar.
- After lunch, enjoy the views and swimming pool at the lodge. Later in the afternoon, we drive back to your beach hotel, arriving in the evening.
