Description
Explore Dja Reserve nestled in southern Cameroon and designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987. Spanning an impressive 5,260 square kilometers, this vast area boasts exceptional biodiversity. Over 1,500 plant species have been identified within its borders, while the surrounding area teems with animal life. An estimated 107 mammal species and 320 bird species call the Dja Reserve home and the reserve also includes iconic fauna like elephants, gorillas, and chimpanzees, making it a haven for ecotourism enthusiasts.
Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive in Yaounde
- Upon arrival at the airport, the tour staff will welcome you. Once customs formalities are cleared, our guide will take you through the rest of the arrival process, such as currency exchange, and then you will be transferred to the hotel for dinner.
Overnight stay.

Day 02: Yaounde-Somalomo- Dja
- Depart to the Dja Reserve via Somalomo after breakfast. On the way to Dja biodiversity Reserve, pass by AYOS, and Messamena. Grab some lunch in the afternoon and then complete entry formalities into the reserve.
- Go to the reserve in the company of porters, an ecotourist guard and a cook. Arrival and settling in the camp, sleeping under the canvas.

Day 03: Somalomo-Camp-Chouam Rock
- Have breakfast and depart for the Chouam Rock.
- Trek and walk for 16 km to reach the Rock, arrive, settle in and watch (safari photos) buffaloes, sitatunga, monkeys, antelopes, butterflies, birds, and flora sleeping under canvas on the Rock.

Day 04: Chouam Rock- Somalomo
- Wake up in the morning and have breakfast. Walk and return to Somalomo, and do not forget to watch various animals and flora and pluck forest fruits along the way.
Stay overnight at Barthelemy’s Inn.

Day 05: Somalomo-Mama Pigmy Camp
- Start your pygmy adventure with breakfast, then travel to the camp for a warm welcome and gifts.
- Spend the day hunting, fishing, harvesting honey and fruits, and learning traditional skills.
- As evening arrives, witness fire-making and traditional medicine, then enjoy a village dance and dinner before a cosy night in camp.

Day 06: Pigmy Camp- The Village-Yaounde
- Canoe down the scenic River Dja in the morning after breakfast. Arriving back in the village.
- Head to Yaounde and settle into the hotel for the afternoon and enjoy the local cuisine at a restaurant for dinner.

Day 07: Departure - Yaounde
- Meet your driver after breakfast in the lobby who will transfer you to the airport to catch your next flight back home.
