Explore the South-East corner of Transylvania, the area most rich in historical sights, medieval towns, old castles, unique fortified churches, and fortresses. scenic old villages, traditions, crafts, great landscapes of the Carpathians mountains, green rolling hills, and forest. You can also enjoy the Transylvanian countryside, charming old villages which preserve the architecture, traditions and the old way of living. This tour of Transylvania is a great chance to taste local food and drinks and to admire the scenic landscapes. We are inviting you to join us for this 3-day tour from Brasov. We’ll leave each day in a different direction to explore the area and we’ll be back in the afternoon back to Brasov. The city of Brasov is by itself a jewelry and a great place to set your base for a Transylvanian experience. You can book your hotel as you please and our guide will pick you up and drop you off, every day at this location.
Itinerary

Day 1. BRASOV – SINAIA – BRAN – PREJMER - BRASOV
- 9.00 AM. Meet our tour guide in the morning at your hotel/address in Brasov.
- First stop at Sinaia is to visit Peles Castle, the former summer residence of the Romanian kings. This great palace impresses with its architecture, amazing wooden decorations, furniture, King Carol I's weapons collections, and stained glass windows.
- Continue to Bran and visit the famous Bran Castle, dating since the 14th century.
- Also called Dracula`s Castle, it is situated not far from Brasov, at the entrance in the Bran - Rucar passage – the gate of Transylvania. The castle got its fame from Dracula`s legend written in 1897 by Bram Stoker and later on made into a film by Francis Ford Coppola.
- The castle was built to defend the entrance to Transylvania and to be a custom point. Your tour guide will tell you all the details about the castle's construction style, its architecture, and events throughout its history, mostly which are the real connections between Vlad Dracula and Bran Castle.
- The last visit of the day will be at the Prejmer fortified church (UNESCO), a unique sample for a mix between a religious and a defensive structure. Built to protect the village communities, fortified churches are characteristic of southern Transylvania.
- Return in the afternoon (about 6.00 PM) to Brasov. Drop off at your hotel or accommodation place. Accommodation on your own

Day 2- BRASOV – VISCRI - SIGHISOARA - BRASOV
- 9.00 AM Meet your guide and start the tour.
- Brasov is one of the most important cities in Romania and a very powerful medieval citadel dating from the 13th century. Vlad Dracula lived in this town for two years in the 15th century.
- You’ll find out more about his activities and love affairs. In the morning, we’ll have a walking tour of Brasov, which includes Council Square, Black Church, White and Black Towers, Weaver’s Bastion, Ecaterina’s Gate, etc.
- We’ll continue our Transylvanian tour by driving through a very scenic rural area. Admire the beauty of the green rolling hills and the old charming Saxon villages scattered among the hills and alleys.
- Almost all the villages in the south of Transylvania had a type of fortification to protect the local community.
- From the road, we can admire the Rupea fortress, an impressive citadel that protected the villages in the area. The three lines of fortifications made this place one of the strongest fortresses in Transylvania.
- Viscri village is one of the most known and charming villages of Transylvania, preserving authentic houses and ways of life. The Viscri fortified church (UNESCO) is the oldest and most important building. We’ll visit the church, fortifications and museum. We'll also enjoy a nice walk on the village streets, look at the local hand-made products, and experience the rural life of the past.
- The afternoon is dedicated to exploring the medieval town of Sighisoara, an amazing place that preserved the medieval houses and town aspect.
- Sighisoara is highly connected with our Dracula tour because here was born Vlad Dracula in the Middle Ages, where nowadays, there is a restaurant called House of Dracula. Enjoy a walk on the narrow river stones paved streets and visit the town’s best sights: Clock Tower, Church on the Hill, Tinsmith’s Tower, Church of the Monastery, etc. Sighisoara’s Old Town is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Return to Brasov. Drop off at your hotel or accommodation place (estimated 7.00 PM)

Day 3- BRASOV - SIBIU – SIBIEL – BRASOV
- 9.00 AM Meet your guide and start the tour.
- We’ll drive in the morning to Sibiu. The city of Sibiu it was the biggest medieval town of Transylvania and today is one of the most popular tourist sights. Highlights: Big Square, Little Square, Orthodox and Lutheran-Evangelical Cathedrals, Liars Bridge, medieval wall, etc.
- Sibiu is a vibrant city with a charming old town and a walk will reveal parts of the local history and culture. It is considered one of the European most places to live and visit.
- Next, we’ll drive you to the villages from Sibiu's surroundings, places with a long history and tradition. The best way to discover village life is to go on a trip by horse-driven wagon.
- Enjoy the sightseeing and the village architecture. Then we’ll serve a homemade traditional lunch in a local family guesthouse. It is also the chance to see a typical Transylvanian household and to see how a peasant family lives.
