Description
You can feel the Romanian wilderness in winter with an organised snowshoeing trip in the wild forest across the low mountains. We build this adventure for passionate hikers but also wild animal lovers. Here, you can track the wild animals and admire nature's wilderness. Last but not least, we prepared excellent accommodation, with exquisite culinary dishes prepared by our hosts. As usual in our tours, the cultural and historical visits are always part of the experience.
Itinerary

Day 1: Meeting in Bucharest
Individual arrival, get together and visit Bucharest capital city.
Depending on your arrival, we will organise a “get together” meeting in a nice restaurant for short presentations.
Then we will have a walking tour of the main city of Romania before a welcome dinner in a nice restaurant.
Time to know each other, to plan our next days, and to review the program.
Optional: transfer from the airport.
Overnight in Bucharest.
Meals: welcome dinner.

Day 2: Transfer to the mountain area
After breakfast, we will be transferred by car or train to Brasov.
We will stroll the small streets, find the stories of the local communities, and have lunch in the historical area.
After lunch, we have time for another hike or snowshoeing in the city's most visited reserve: Tampa Mountain.
From above, we have a great view over the historical city center.
In the evening, we will be transferred to Tusnad – a bathing resort in the Carpathians.
Accommodation and dinner in Tusnad Bai, in a local hotel.
Meals: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 3: Hiking in Tusnad area
Today, we will have our first day of a long snowshoeing experience.
After breakfast, we will climb the volcano near the bathing resort.
On top of this, after a long hike and snowshoeing, we will find St. Ana Lake, our only volcano lake.
We will start from ~500m altitude and arrive at 1,100m altitude, crossing a wild forest.
A natural reserve with plants from the old volcano can be visited nearby after lunch.
On the way back, we will use another path to return to Tusnad.
In the evening, we will relax in a thermal bath in the resort.
Dinner and accommodation in Tusnad Bath, same resort.
Meals: breakfast, picnic lunch, dinner.

Day 4: Hiking in Harghita region
After breakfast, we will be transferred for one hour to another great area for winter tours.
We will start our day route in Harghita Bai resort and end in Izvoare resort, crossing the Harghita Mountains.
On the way, we will reach the ski resort Madaras and the 1,800m altitude peak.
At the end of the route, we will conclude our day in a winter manor.
Our hosts are cooking hunting dishes and have a good collection of wines.
Accommodation and dinner in Izvoare resort.
Meals: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 5: Visit a hunting resort
After breakfast, we will visit a hunting resort near the chalet, where we can admire the wild animals.
Then, we will continue our snowshoeing experience in the wild.
We will cross the mountains again to arrive in Odorheiu Secuiesc – the most crucial city in the area.
This will be the end of our adventure.
In the evening, we will meet for the farewell dinner.
Accommodation in Odorheiu Secuiesc, in the old city center guesthouse.
Meals: breakfast, picnic lunch, and dinner.

Day 6: Return to Bucharest
After breakfast, we will visit a hunting resort near the chalet, where we can admire the wild animals.
Then, we are continuing our snowshoeing experience into the wild.
We will cross again the mountains to arrive in Odorheiu Secuiesc – the most important city in the area. This will be the end of our adventure.
In the evening, we will meet for the farewell dinner.
Accommodation in Odorheiu Secuiesc, in the old city center guesthouse.
Meals: breakfast, picnic lunch, and dinner.
