Embark on the scenic journey to explore Luderitz, one of the two Namibian harbor towns.
Experience a boat trip via various bays where you can encounter the endemic heavyside dolphin, the Cape fur seal and various seabirds including the African penguin found on Halifax Island . The island is one of the few penguin breeding area of the endangered specie.
The boat trip is followed by an 2 walking tour through the town of Luderitz. The town has a rich history, a unique environment and a multicultural population. The town's main ondustry is fisheries followed by mining and tourism.

Boat and marine life viewing trip to Halifax Island
- Meeting point at the Luderitz Waterfront Jetty at 7h30.
- The tour commences with a 2.5-hour catamaran trip in the bay to Halifax Island. Boarding on the catamaran takes place at the Waterfront jetty.
- It departs at 8h00 taking a western direction past Angra Point, Sturmvogel Bay, Shearwater Bay, and Diaz Point ending at Halifax Island. The island is one of the last few islands where the African penguin is confined.
- Amongst the marine life that can be observed are the endemic Heavyside dolphin, Cape gannet, the cape fur seal as well as a variety of seabirds and occasionally the Humpback whale. A colony of the cape fur seal is found on a small island ap Diaz Point.
- Aboard the catamaran is an experienced sailor who provides information and answers to all related questions.
- After the boat trip, the tour continues with the guided walking tour through the tow.
- Information on the history, socio-economic, and marine life is provided by an expert.
