Itinerary
-
Punta del Este
- Pick up from the hotel or port at Montevideo and drive towards Punta del Este. This destination includes 32km of coastline between Punta Ballena and Manantiales.
- We will begin our day with Punta Ballena, a high point of rocks that juts into the sea and offers a spectacular view on both sides. The famous Hotel Casapueblo Museum was built by the artist Carlos Páez Vilaro.
- We will proceed to the small beach and village of Las Grutas, under the slope and cliffs. A world apart, isolated from the rest of the environment with hidden coves and caves.
- We will walk along the boulevard of Mansa Beach with its wooden walkways and have a relaxing time. We will also enter their residential neighbourhoods.
- Proceed to visit the historical places of the town, such as the Lighthouse and the Candelaria Church and its shopping center and the famous Gorlero Avenue, Rambla Circunvalación and Punta de la Salina that separates the Río de la Plata from the Atlantic Ocean and is the southernmost point of the country.
- Walk along the port with its luxurious yachts and sailboats, with artisanal fishermen who return from the sea and sell their fish. Large sea lions always come to wait for the fishermen to throw them leftover fish, so they are on the pier a few meters from the people, like “posing for a photo”.
- Brava Beach and The Fingers - The first thing we will visit is the famous sculpture of Los Dedos, a mandatory stop for all visitors.
- Then, we will tour the entire boulevard and the adjacent neighbourhoods, such as San Rafael and Rincón del Indio, making as many stops as you like.
- We will cross the Maldonado Stream through the famous undulating bridge and visit the small beaches, shopping centres, and narrow streets.
- After all this, if we still have time and you want, we can go another 20km East to José Ignacio, a quaint village that has become very famous. Drop off at your hotel or the port.
