Itinerary
-
Day 1: Arrival
Arrival at Amman Airport. Meet and greet service at Amman Airport (QAIA). Transfer to your hotel in Amman. Check-in, dinner and overnight stay. If the arrival is after 9 pm, dinner will not be included.
-
Day 2: Amman City Tour – Jerash – Amman
After breakfast, depart from the hotel for a city tour of Amman to visit the Citadel & Roman theatre. Then, proceed to the ancient city of Jerash, which has the best-preserved remains of the provincial cities of the ancient Roman Empire. Jerash became one of the league of cities known as the Decapolis, all of which were given special economic, judicial and trading rights when, in BCE 63, they were incorporated into the Roman Empire. Jerash reached its peak during the 1st and 2nd century CE. The well-preserved Roman theatre, the temples and many streets, and the large oval-shaped forum or agora date from this period. Walking along the ancient streets of Jerash and discovering the city’s remarkably well-preserved remains are sure to be highlights of any visit to Jordan. Return to your hotel in Amman. Dinner and overnight stay.
-
Day 3: Madaba – Mount Nebo – Shobak Castle – Petra
After breakfast, drive to visit the town known for its mosaics, Madaba and Mount Nebo. Madaba’s main attraction is the contemporary Greek Orthodox church of St. George, which is a wonderfully vivid, sixth-century Byzantine mosaic map showing Jerusalem and other holy sites. Ten minutes drive to the west of Madaba is one of the most revered sites in Jordan: Mount Nebo, the memorial of Moses, the presumed site of the prophet’s death and burial place. Early Byzantine Christians built a small, square church on the spot and later expanded into a vast complex. Continue towards the Shobak Castle. Later, proceed to Petra for dinner and an overnight stay.
-
Day 4: Petra – Wadi Rum
After breakfast, spend the entire day exploring the ancient city of Petra, known for its stunning rock-cut architecture. Begin by walking through the narrow gorge called the Siq, which leads to the iconic Treasury (Al-Khazneh). Continue further into the site to discover various other monuments, such as the Royal Tombs, the Monastery (Ad-Deir), and the High Place of Sacrifice. Drive to Wadi Rum for dinner and overnight camping.
-
Day 5: Wadi Rum – Amman Airport
After breakfast at the camp, join us on a 4×4 jeep tour through the Martian-like landscape of Wadi Rum, visiting iconic sites like Lawrence’s Spring and the Seven Pillars of Wisdom. Experience the tranquillity of the desert Wadi Rum. Transfer to Amman International Airport for your onward flight or to the border.
