Description
The Marangu Route is one of the most popular routes for climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, the most prominent peak in Africa. Because of its relative easiness and abundance of services along the road, it is frequently referred as the "Coca-Cola" route. The 5 days Marangu route climb starts at the Marangu Gate, situated on the southeastern side of Mount Kilimanjaro. Compared to camping routes, this route is more comfortable because it is the only one that provides lodging in huts along the walk. Usually, the route takes five days to finish, however some climbers choose to add a day for acclimatization.
