Description
Let’s discover the Central Zagori area and enjoy swimming at an amazing waterfall. The first break of the tour is to be amazed by the engineering and the ingredients of stone bridges from the 16th century. We’ll walk on the most well-known stone bridge of Zagori while observing the huge cliffs on both sides of the bridge. Then, a break to the longest stone trail in Greece, which includes 1500 (approximately) stone steps, 39 turns and 2 single-arched stone bridges, which was, until the decade of 70’s, the only way to go to the highest village in the Zagori area (1340 meters altitude). Hiking trail for all is our next stage, but you need to carry with you swimming equipment in order to swim at a natural pool beside a 20-meter waterfall. The total distance from the village (Iliohori or Dobrinovo) is 1km, and the total hiking time is 15 minutes of descending (when we go) and 30 minutes of ascending (when we return). Later on, we’ll enjoy local recipes at a nomad area with traditional huts and learn in detail about the way of life of Sarakatsans (nomad race).
