Description
A 6-day tour of Bhutan promises a delightful blend of culture, nature, and spirituality. Upon your arrival in Paro, visit the National Memorial Chorten, the Crafts Bazaar and Tashichho Dzong (Fortress). Explore the famous sites of Thimphu on the second day, and see the 108 stupas at the Druk Wangyel Chorten in the Punakha Valley. Hike the Taktsang Monastery, take a traditional hot stone bath and visit the Farmhouse to experience traditional Bhutan.

Day 1: Arrival in Paro
The flight to Paro reveals scenic and breathtaking views of the Himalayan Mountains of the world. If weather permits, you will be able to see Mt. Everest (8848 m, 29,198ft) and other Himalayan Mountain Ranges.
Once you arrive at the Paro International Airport, you will be greeted by our representative (Guide) and then drive to Thimphu (approx. 1hr 30m). On the way, visit the Tachog gang, where an iron chain bridge was built by Thang Thong Gyalpo. After arriving in Thimphu, visit the National Memorial Chorten, where we see elderly people praying and circumambulating the stupa, and Crafts Bazaar, where you will find authentic Bhutanese-made crafts.
Visit Tashichho Dzong (Fortress), known as the “fortress of the glorious religion." It houses the main secretariat building and the central monk body. Later, visit the archery ground to see local people playing archery, and you can walk along Norzin Lam, the main Thimphu downtown.

Day 2: Thimphu Exploration
Dordenma Buddha Statue
Atop a hill in Thimphu, the capital and largest city of Bhutan, is a massive, golden Buddha sitting atop a mountain. Motithang Takin Preserve, also known as the Mini Zoo, is where you will see Bhutan’s typical national animal. Hike to Wangdue Tse Lhakhang, where you get a beautiful view of Thimphu Valley.
Bhutan Postal Museum: Fascinating Stamps If you have any sort of interest in philately, then you should definitely stop by the National Post Office in Thimphu. From round, square, and rectangular to even 3-D stamps, you will find multiple varieties of stamps here. This place is any philatelist’s dream come true. Jungshi Handmade Paper Factory The Jungshi factory is reputedly the best place that manufactures traditional paper made using an age-old method instead of the modern way.

Day 3: Punakha Valley
After breakfast, drive to Punakha. On the way, stop over the Dochu-La pass (3,100 meters), which on a clear day offers an incredible view of Himalayan peaks and snowclad mountains from the pass. The beauty of this place is further enhanced by the Druk Wangyel Chorten – 108 stupas.
Later, visit Chimi Lhakhang, the temple of fertility blessed by Lam Drukpa Kuenley, who is known as the Divine Madman for his eccentric behaviours. He is also considered a symbol of fertility, and many childless couples go to his temple for blessing.
Visit Punakha Dzong, one of the majestic fortresses located between Pho Chu (Male River) and Mo Chu (Female River). Punakha was the ancient capital of Bhutan. And visit the longest suspension bridge across the Dzong.

Day 4: Punakha - Paro
After breakfast, 45 minutes hike to Khamsum Yulley Namgyel chorten with the picturesque view of the rice terraces along the river. Khamsum Yulley Namgyal stands majestically on a strategic ridge above the Punakha valley. The best view of Punakha is enjoyed from the top of this temple.
And drive back to Paro. In Paro visit Paro Rinpung Dzong. Later, stroll around Paro Street with a traditional look.

Day 5: Paro Taktsang
After breakfast, hike to Taktsang Monastery, the wooded structure stands bravely on a cliff in the upper Paro Valley. The walk is approximately 2 to 2.5 hours one way. It is said that the great Guru Rinpoche flew here on the back of a tigress and set up this monastery when he brought the teachings of the Buddhist Dharma to Bhutan in the 8th century.
After lunch, visit the Paro National Museum. Next, visit the Paro Rinpung Dzong.
Later in the evening, visit the Farmhouse to experience traditional Bhutan, taste Bhutanese cuisine and dip into a traditional hot stone bath.

Day 6: Departure
In the morning, drive to the airport for a flight to your onward destination.
