Itinerary
-
Day 1: Maun
- Arrival meet and greet.
- Have a relaxed afternoon preparing for the days ahead and receive a briefing of what to expect in the upcoming days.
-
Day 2-3: Okavango Delta
KoThe Okavango River, originating from central Angola far to the northwest, flows south and eastwards before slowing and spreading into one of the world's only true inland deltas.
- This area boasts a mixture of flowering lilies, a paradise of birds, and a variety of animals. The river eventually spills its contents into the vast plains of the Makgadikgadi sands and disappears there.
- Our camp, located on the edge of one of the lagoons, serves as a base from which we explore. We will walk on uninhabited islands, picnic in the wilderness, and enjoy rides on mokoros through narrow, reed-lined channels.
- During our stay, we spend time with local Motswana guides, learning about the plants, culture, animals, and creatures surrounding the Delta.
- At some point in the late afternoon, we go on a mokoro sunset ride, relaxing and enjoying our sundowners.
-
Day 4: Maun
- Early start after breakfast as we travel back to Maun town.
- Along the way, we will have our lunch, and dinner is served at our comfortable lodge.
- We arrive in the afternoon, relax, and top up anything we need for the upcoming days.
-
Day 5-8: Game Reserve Schedule - Days Spent in the National Park
- We depart from our lodge after breakfast for another interesting couple of days in the National Park, surrounded by animals and close to nature where we can hear lions and hyenas calling from all angles.
- Don't forget our "bush television" sessions (fire), where we share stories.
- For this highlight of the trip, we will spend the days in an open 4x4 Land Cruiser, which allows for better game viewing with our Motswana guides. All meals – breakfast, lunch, and dinner – will be catered for.
- The days we spend in the park area will involve moving our camp around to different areas, covering Savuti, North Gate, and other areas of interest for better game viewing depending on the seasons.
- The landscape and vegetation will change as we move, allowing us to see different wildlife.
-
Day 9: Maun
- We slowly make our way back to Maun on our last day.
- We will get to town around lunchtime, giving us time if anyone wants to do a scenic flight (optional).
- Lunch today will be at your own expense, and dinner will be provided at the lodge.
- We will also have time to explore the town and relax for the rest of the afternoon.
-
Day 10: Nata Town
- After breakfast, we travel east towards Nata, near the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans, enjoying the beautiful scenery, lots of birdlife, and not forgetting the flamingos after rains and desert animals.
- This afternoon, we will visit the Nata Bird Sanctuary and experience its beauty: birdlife, animals, scenic views, and a sundowner watching the sunset.
-
Day 11: Chobe - Victoria Falls
- This morning, we make our way to Chobe National Park, an area known to have the biggest herds of elephants and buffaloes attracted to the Chobe River water.
- This afternoon, we get to enjoy a boat cruise on the Chobe River, which forms a border between Botswana and Namibia.
- The ride allows us to silently approach animals like elephants, hippos, buffaloes, crocodiles, along with many others that are attracted by the water and view lots of birds.
- After our boat ride, we make our way to the border crossing to Victoria Falls.
-
Day 12: Victoria Falls
- This will be our last day of the tour.
- After breakfast, we do a group tour of the falls.
- After the tour of the falls, guests have opportunities to participate in optional activities offered in the city.
- Today, lunch and dinner are at your own expense, and we meet for the last dinner as a group.
