After breakfast in Phakding, we embark on our journey towards Namche Bazaar. Our path takes us through enchanting pine and cedar forests alongside the Dudh Khoshi River, leading us across picturesque suspension bridges and past charming settlements such as Benkar, Chumoa, and Monjo.
Monjo signifies the boundary of Sagarmatha National Park, where we go through the necessary check-in procedures before officially entering the park. Continuing onward, we progress beyond the last village before reaching Namche. The trail ascends from Jorsale, guiding us through lush forests and over sturdy bridges, eventually bringing us to the convergence point of the Dudh Khoshi and Bhote Khoshi rivers. If the weather is clear, this juncture offers our first glimpse of the majestic Everest as we approach Namche, the Khumbu region's pivotal gateway and bustling trading hub. Two days of exploration and relaxation await us in the vibrant town of Namche Bazaar, where we will spend the night.

Continuing our trek beyond Kyangjuma, we reach Sanasa and traverse a fragrant pine forest, eventually crossing a bridge adorned with colourful prayer flags spanning the Dudh Koshi River to arrive at the quaint settlement of Phunki Thanga. After a satisfying lunch, our path presents a challenging ascent up the right flank of the Dudh Khoshi Valley to reach Tengboche Monastery, the largest and most spiritually significant in the Khumbu region.
As we arrive at this revered center, we ascend steeply through enchanting pine forests to reach Tengboche itself.
