Description
Head to the port city on the Maghreb coast in Tangier, a Moroccan port on the Strait of Gibraltar that has been a strategic gateway between Africa and Europe since Phoenician times, and dig deep into Moroccan cultures. Drive through the new town to see the European quarter, which was built when Tangier was an international town with special status (1920–1956).
See the residential area called California to see some celebrity homes and Royal Palaces.
Go to Cape Spartel, the nearest point to Europe where the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea join together.
Visit the Hercules Caves (Prehistorical site), caverns where Hercules allegedly rested during his labours, with an opening in the shape of Africa and ride a camel.
Drive to the entrance of the medina called Kasbah (old town) for a walking tour to discover the real Tangier with its medieval ramparts and gates, monuments and magical souks (markets) with the guide.
Relish Moroccan cuisine at a local restaurant.
