Itinerary

1. Batu Caves & Elephant Conservation Centre

   • 0900 hrs: After breakfast, depart for Batu Caves Tour - a limestone outcrop. The 272 steps climb into the cave takes us to the Temple of  Hindu Deity Lord Subramaniam, aka Lord Murugan. He is honoured during the Hindu Festival of Thaipusam in January or February every year. The 140 feet statue of the Deity is mesmerising. (Note: Decent attire is mandatory for ladies to enter the Temple). 

   • 1200 hrs: After lunch, enjoy a video show on Elephant Catch and Translocation of Rogue and Orphaned Elephants. 

   • Visit the Elephant Conservation Centre - This centre was established in 1989 to rescue rogue and orphaned elephants losing their habitat due to human development. The centre acts as a translocation facility and also for research purposes. It also raises awareness to the public and saves elephants from becoming an endangered species.

   • 1400 hrs: Brief, feed and feel the Gentle Giants. The bathing of Elephants is subject to river conditions.

   • 1530 hrs: Take a relaxed drive through the countryside to Bukit Melawati in Kuala Selangor. 

   • 1730 hrs: Feed the Silvered Leaf Monkey - An adorable and friendly animal that feeds on young leaves, tree shoots and wild fruits. Their infants are orange in colour and after 3 months turn silver. They live in clusters of 6-10.

   • 1830 hrs: Enjoy a fresh seafood dinner at a Riverside Cafe.

   • 1930 hrs: Catch a boat to watch Fireflies (silence to prevail). The Fireflies congregate on mangrove trees to feed on nectar and to mate. They flash synchronously through a biochemical reaction in their light organ on their bottoms. 

   • 2030 hrs: Transfer to Kuala Lumpur and arrive at approx 2200 hrs.
