Description
It is located in the district of Vlora. The total area of Karaburun-Sazan “Marine National Park,” which is 12428.00 ha around the island of Sazan at a distance of 1 nautical mile (1852 m) from the coastline, has been identified by local and foreign experts as high-value areas of natural heritage. This area is considered to have a wide variety of underwater landscapes, habitats, and species of marine flora and fauna that serve as shelters, food sources, and breeding grounds for many species of national, regional, and global importance. They also constitute a suitable substrate for the growth of many underwater plant and animal organisms, beginning with marine algae, sponges, mammals, molluscs, crustaceans, molluscs, corals, reptiles, mammals, and habitats in the Mediterranean Sea. One of the distinguishing characteristics of the biodiversity of this area is the meadows.
Itinerary

Daily Tour to Sazan-Karaburun
Start point: Tirana, Albania
Time: 06:00
- Departure from our offices (Rruga Myslym Shyri 7, Tiranë, near Intersport);
- Coffee break on the way;
- Arrive in Vlora, where we will depart by boat at 10:00.
- The first destination will be “Haxhi Alia” Cave, the most famous Albanian pirat, about 1 hour and 30 minutes away from Vlora;
- Head straight at the Bay of “Shën Jan”, about 20 minutes away from Haxhi Alia Cave.
- Free time to eat lunch, on the boat restaurant or taken by yourself;
- Then we head to Sazan island, the largest island in Albania during the Communist era; the entire island served as one of the largest fortified military bases in the country.
- In the afternoon we leave from Vlora.
- Around 20:30, arrive at Tirana.
