DAY 1: MARANGU GATE (1,830 M/6,000 FT) - MANDARA HUT (2,740 M/9,000 FT) ASCENT
Early in the morning, after breakfast, a driver will pick you up and drive to Marangu gate on the eastern side of Kilimanjaro. After arrival at the park gate, a guide will do the necessary registration; after finishing, you will start to ascent to Mandara, where you will hike through the forest; here, you will be surrendered by eucalyptus trees, species of bird, colobus monkey, blue monkey, and many exciting things to view by the hiker, you will stop halfway for lunch and continue hiking to Mandara. After a short tour of the Mandara, you will spend a night at the Mandara hut.

DAY 2: MANDARA HUT TO MAUNDI CRATER - MARANGU GATE
After breakfast at Mandara hut, you will continue hiking through the maunda crater. Reaching the crater takes about 15-20 minutes; this area is suitable for viewing Kenya and northern Tanzania. A climber will have a good time enjoying and seeing the maunda crater and taking a picture of the crater; after viewing the maunda crater, you will start the descent. However, on the same trail to Marangu gate, a Kitano Tour and safari driver will pick you up at the gate and drive back to your hotel at Moshi.
