Itinerary

1. DAY 1: MOMELLA GATE (1500) – MIRIKAMBA HUT (2500)

   • The driver will pick you up at your hotel early in the morning and drive to momella gate in Arusha national park. It takes almost 2 hours to reach Arusha. After reaching Momella gate, a guide will perform the registration at Tanzanian national park (TANAPA). 
   • After completing the registration, the hiker will start hiking & climbing toward the mountain forest; they will get to see giraffes, zebras, antelope, buffalo, and elephants near the trail. As you continue climbing & hiking, you will cross through ngarenanyuki river and a beautiful waterfall at the base of Mount Meru. You will see different kinds of birds and black and white colobus monkeys. Finally, you will arrive at Mirikamba hut 2500m, where you will stay overnight and have dinner.

2. DAY 2: MIRIKAMBA HUT (2500) - SADDLE HUT (3550)

   • Early in the morning, after having breakfast, you will continue your ascent toward the saddle, you may see a lot of wildlife along the way, and the walk will take as along the Mount Meru crater and the impressive ash cone. When you arrive at camp, you have the option of hiking/climbing little Mt. Meru (3820m) with your guide for further acclimation. You will be served an early dinner to receive ample rest before your midnight summit attempt at saddle hut.

3. DAY 3: SADDLE HUT (3550) – MERU PEAK (4565) AND DESCENT TO MOMELLA GATE (2500)

   • Early in the morning, after breakfast, you will continue your ascent toward Meru Peak. The hike will start from rhino point (3800m) to the cobra point (4350m) there after you hike on a rocky ridge between the crater and inner cliffs. You will reach the summit of Mt Meru (4565m) at sunrise with spectacular views of Mt. Meru Ash Tray and Mt. Kilimanjaro. Enjoy your views, then descend to Saddle Hut for a short break. You will then continue descending to Miriakamba Hut (2500 m) for dinner and overnight.

4. DAY 4: MIRIAKAMBA HUT – DESCENT TO MOMELLA GATE -BACK TO MOSHI/ARUSHA

   • Early in the morning, after having breakfast at Miriakamba hut, you will continue the descent to Momella gate, where you will meet a safari guide who will pick you up and drive back to Moshi/Arusha and transfer you to your hotel at white house hotel.
