Beijing Private Tour to Huangyaguan Great Wall and Dule Temple
- Depart from your Beijing hotel in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle, and relax during the scenic drive to the Huangyaguan section. It takes about 2.5 hours to drive. The professional tour guide will explain the Great Wall and the related Chinese history and culture on the way. Sit back and enjoy the scenery along the way.
- Once arrive at the Huangyaguan Great Wall, your tour guide will lead the way and accompany you during the tour to explain histories and stories. You will spend 2 hours here absorbing the spectacular views over the mountains. The Huangyaguan Great Wall was initially constructed in the Northern Qi Dynasty (550-557), and General Qi Jiguang repaired it in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). The Huangyaguan Great Wall, with a total length of 42 kilometres, 52 watch towers and 14 beacon towers, were built along this section. This wall section was restored between 1984-1986 and opened to the public in 1987. Twenty watch towers are being restored, with a total length of 3 kilometres.
- Continue to visit the Dule Temple. The Dule temple is of great historical and architectural importance and has been recognized as a World Heritage Site. Asia's oldest surviving timber structure is over 1000 thousand years old. Follow your tour guide to explore this exquisite temple.
- Admire the 23-metre-high Guanyin Pavilion, the highest of the existing double-storey buildings in China. The Guanyin sculpture, 16 metres in height, is one of the country's most enormous colourful clay sculptures. All the temple's walls are intricately detailed with murals depicting important Buddhist icons; entering this temple is an overwhelming sensation with a kaleidoscope of colour and art and a window of learning about Buddhism.
