Itinerary

1. City Tour

   • Start your tour by meeting your tour guide. From here, you will enjoy a panoramic driving tour in Cartagena, which displays perfectly preserved colonial architecture and picturesque streets.
   • Drive to La Popa Covenant: 15 min. Your tour continues to the hill of La Popa, a 150 m-high hill, also the highest point in Cartagena. On top, you will have a unique opportunity to get out and admire the grounds of the great 17th-century convent, cloister and chapel of Nuestra Senora de la Candelaria de la Popa. You will have spectacular views and photo opportunities here. Time at La Popa: 45 min.
   • Drive to San Felipe de Barajas: 15 min. Next, you will head towards one of the most important historic forts, San Felipe de Barajas Fort, for a short photo stop outside, before continuing to the walled Old Town for a fascinating walking/rolling tour of the best highlights of the city. Time for a photo stop at San Felipe de Barajas: 45 min.
   • Drive to Plaza de Santa Teresa: 15 min. Among other places, you will visit the charming, colonial Plaza de Santa Teresa, the picturesque Plaza de Bolivar and Plaza de los Coches, where a slave market was held for centuries. 
   • Your tour guide will share an intriguing history as you go through the city. You will also visit the beautiful San Pedro Claver Church and Garden, where you’ll admire the beautiful interior and exterior colonial features that have been well-preserved over time. Accessible walking/rolling tour of Old Town: 1 hrs.
   • Your last stop of the day will be the Dungeons of Cartagena. This shopping strip located in an old historic building has 23 small handcraft shops that offer a variety of products from pottery, clothing, stones and much more.
