Description
Drive into the old part of Phuket Town and enjoy a sightseeing tour through the historical Sino-Portuguese buildings, which showcase the classic “Old Phuket” architecture. Visit the Chin Pracha House, one of Phuket’s oldest houses, built in 1904. The house, known for its historical furniture and floor tiles, has attracted many film productions, including “Indiana Jones” and “Heaven & Earth.” Next, head to Saphan Hin, a local public park located by the sea at the end of Phuket Road. This recreational park features the Tin Mining Monument, dedicated to Captain Edward Thomas Miles, the Australian who introduced the first dredge to Phuket in 1909. Take a short stop at the Saphan Hin Chinese Temple to pay respects to one of the Chinese gods.
